Beverley saved the game, Lin secured it with some defensive plays along with Harden who took the lead and hit free throws.

What's up with us, we really needed a 39 point quarter in the 4th against the really, really, really shorthanded Pelicans!!

Role reversal. Lin with the defense, Beverly with the offense lol.

A great game by Bev and Howard in their come back shows how much we really need them.

    Harden was BOSS!

And another scrub game by Lin. Looking forward to him being traded. Hope McHale gets the boot as well. And if CSN goes bankrupt and I don't have to listen to those idiots anymore, my rox life will be perfect!

Wasn't impressive overall game, but good to pull this one out of the hat in the last few mins. Losing this one would have really hurt our momentum going into the playoffs and put a real scare in our HCA hopes.

they are both very good friends and also i think lin now realizes if bev isn't in the games he is the main focus. with bev in lin doesn't have to playmake but just find shots and help the team overall which is a role he is more suited for.

it should be obvious now how important bev is to this team and hopefully the lin starting argument is over. both lin and bev play well together and this isnt' the 1st time they've brought the team back from a deficit.

Lin was a stick up kid on the court, not just with chandler and bev in the bedroom. 4 steals!

it was one of those games you had to watch to understand.

i was reading up on babbitt who was killing us from outside with shot after shot from outside...and it turns out he was playing in russia which must have really sucked so you have guys on their team that are playing for contacts that can actually play and probably the thought of going back to russia where where the owners can legally threaten players in the locker room after a bad loss probably wasn't too appealing to babbitt.

Nope. Fortunately, my panicking and whining was premature.

Actually Haymitch, your panicking and whining was appropriate. While yes, they won, almost assuring the HCA against POR. And yes, I will take the ugliest win over the best played loss every time.

But James Harden had to play 43 minutes last night... in a game against the NO B-team.

those guys were hungry but what the separation which comes with a good team is winning time. the pelican b players didn't know how to win the game.
i am noticing as a team we are learning how to win games.

I was at the game and the Rockets were really sluggish for most of the night. Their D was horrible until the last few minutes. They kept getting burned on basic PNR plays and leaving Pelican shooters wide open on the perimeter. That was New Orleans' entire offense. They never ran any postup plays.

Offense wasn't much better. Harden got his points, but he was getting doubled a lot and had trouble moving the ball around quickly to set up an open shooter or get it to someone who was cutting to the hoop. Plus the 3-point shooting was dreadful until the 4th quarter.

I think it was a combination of tired legs, 2 guys playing for the first time in 2 weeks, the team missing Parsons, being in a slump, and the pressure of needing to win 2 more games to secure home court. Add it all up and you had a near collapse before they woke up in the 4th quarter.

BTW, the MVP of the game was Troy Daniels. Not because of anything he did on offense(he hit only one shot and was horrible at inbounding the ball on a couple of occasions). But because his presence in the game kept Omri Casspi on the bench for most of the 2nd half. Man, that guy sucks.

Try to be happy once in your life, Lin's play towards the end helped us with the win.

If you have an issue with what he did in this game, then your obviously not happy with the win.

Too close for damn comfort. Rockets like making things difficult. Crap effort and NO seemingly making every shot made this game tighter than necessary. Once we gave proper effort, the game was over.

3 point shooting. Houston was cold most of the game while New Orleans was hot (Rockets leaving them open didn't help things). 3 point shots are the great x-factor in NBA games.

Once the 3 point shooting went the other way (helped by the Rockets going small and changing up their D), so did the game.

So happy to get the win despite 3 1/2 really poor play by the team.

Dwight and Beverley made the difference between the Rockets losing to another crappy team, and the Rockets pulling off the win. So happy to have them back.

I'm also pleased that Lin finished the game with clutch plays.

That ended up making up for his horrible defense earlier in the game. I hope Lin watches his defensive film and makes corrections. Rivers was shooting well but Lin insisted on going under picks when defending him. But the worst part was not only did Lin go under the pick he would drop back an extra four feet when going under the pick. It made no sense but it happened time after time. If Lin goes under a pick outside the 3 point line that might be acceptable, but when they set a pick at the three point line and Lin drops back to 16 fit to go under it, that's just crazy. Rivers got open 17 ft. looks at the basket because of that. In the end Lin came through and we got the win, but it did scare me.

Harden was pretty solid the whole game. We have great pieces on this team. Glad Chandler got some rest and we still got the win.

great point... i didn't think about that...it was like at one point pelican weren't missing anything. between, babbitt, morrow and austin.. it was frustrating to watch everything they throw up go in and in many cases they were well guarded.
