I don't know about "playing" from what I've seen. I saw us get obliterated by Denver and the Vipers brought us back. I saw a short handed Minn. team beat us all over the court. We are not the only team playing b2b and 3 games in 4 days.I believe Portland played last night.

McHale isn't an X's and O's guy. He's a player's coach... ie, players like him.

Sampson was supposed to be the X's and O's guy on the defense.

If the Rockets lose home court they will not necessarily be done in. They are missing 2 of their 4 best players. Portland is very beatable and the Rockets are quite capable of winning the series.

Hopefully it doesn't come to being the #5 seed, but if it happens, it can be corrected.

This just looked like a bad preseason game.

Beverley's defense wouldn't have helped all that much. Rubio isn't a scoring PG, he's a pass first PG. Unless you think that putting Beverley on Brewer would have helped, and not sure it would since Brewer has the height, length and strength advantage. He's not a speedy scoring guard.

Brewer is a 6'9" shooting guard/small forward. Beverley would have had NO chance defending him. Brewer simply would have exploited the mismatch by shooting over him or backing him down.

Mchale is one of our problems but the organization needs to get rid of the mentally weak, unathletic basketball players out. Harden has to do sooooo much offensively but defensively he is too lackadaisical to have players like Lin and Parsons on the floor with him... Casspi, Garicia, Montiejunas are all garbage players that need to go and be replaced by players that play like Chuck Brown, Mario Elie and Carl Herrera. I'd rather see those types versus this international gimmick bs.

I wonder if this is an equally big factor to our regression on D as Bev and Dwight being out. Maybe Sampson was the puppet master.

I'm worried that Sampson's departure has had more of an adverse effect than they're letting on. Morey says they developed defensive schemes for each team early in the season, but I can't imagine that losing Sampson's guidance in-game doesn't have an impact.

Cool story bro. Like when Bev had 3 TOs against the Timberwolves on Nov 23?

Mchale is just a freaking name and face he is useless. He is like the Joel Osteen of basketball coaches... All motivational talk.

This is just a wrong statement.

You need to check the tape and see how did Parsons score on the second to last play.

You can argue McHale is a mediocre coach, but saying he knows nothing about X and O is just plain wrong.

Finch is the offensive coordinator, not McHale.

Show the tape of any games that Finch drawing up any plays at the end of the game instead of McHale.

    You are getting more ridiculous.

McHale has the final play and does draw up some plays. I have no idea whether that play came from Finch or Bickerstaff, but it was approved by McHale.

Horrible game. How can you not come out to play with so much on the line? This was a non playoff team without their best players. You let a player with an eleven point season average score over 50. This lack of passion, desire, intensity have plagued the Rockets all season. Can they just "turn it on" during the playoffs? Maybe yes, maybe no. I know two vital players are missing, but the defense has been so atrocious their return may not fix it. And, Portland won.
