Thank God our backcourt has Lin's lockdown defense at least.

You're high. Brewer is a 6'9" shooting guard/small forward. Brewer isn't the kind of wing that blows past players. He'd simply shoot over Beverley.

Beverley struggles with 6'4" players. Brewer would have annihilated him.

    7/8 games a Sg/SF scored 25+

2/8 a PG scored 25+(1 game our SF was on the PG)

2/8 game our PGs played bad defense

    Howard will fix everything

I can't edit my post so i will say it here, saying bad defense is about lack of Howard is ridiculous. Howard is not so different from Asik defensively.

That is utterly ridiculous. This needs to be fixed - even beyond bringing Dwight back.

I'm guessing "you people" includes mainstream sports media, because they agree.

Pretty sad that a 6'1 guard is the only source of grit and toughness this team has. And for the love of god would Dwight just play already! I understand he want to be 100% for the playoffs, but dude we desperately need you now. It's not like he's limping or anything. He better be averaging 28 and 15 in the playoffs to make up for all the games he's missed.

A rotation of Howard/Asik is a helluva lot better than a rotation of Asik/TJ or DMo or Casspi.

Lin has given up an avg. Of 14 points (8games)

Harden has given up 26 per game (8games)

Parsons has given up 24 per game (8games)

There's a reason garcia is getting playing time now

But of course to everyones minds here, bev would give up 0ppg

    Howard is all that matters

Howard makes bev, Lin, Parsons, Jones and harden look good Defensively

Garcia should of and could of slowed down Brewer. All Garcia had to do was defend him like he does KD.

Brewer was getting superstar calls by the time Garcia really started getting in his grill.

    Yes..... YES.......YES!!!!

Without Beverly we relly have only one PG on the roster who can play and somewhat defend. I do not in any way trust Cannan to guard opposing point guards in the playoffs. Cannan is also a streaky shooter that makes ROOKIE mistakes.

Beverly is a ****ing ROCK, he is steady, makes good desicions most of the time and complements Lin well.

Dwight is MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH better than Asik. Remember when Harden went down earlier this year and Dwight carried us. The dude put in work when James was out and we were playing like a great team. The problem with him out is we have NO way of getting easy buckets. It is infuriating watching james have to carry this team because teams double up on him, With dwight those asik blown layups would be dunks.

Also one thing dwight does MUCH better than asik in securing the funking rebound. Just in todays game i can recall 3 times where Asik got a contested rebound then got it poked away because he has butter fingers.

    DWERTT we need U!

it's possible. Mchale's rotations and decisions don't even make sense anymore...those were some weird ass line ups

I think bev and howard bring a toughness that the current unit do not have. Last year they didn't have them and still played defense, maybe this year, they have relied too much on bev and howard to remind them to play defense. inexcusable. team needs to not fk around and play hard all the time.

Sorry OP, but I had to rate this thread 1 star. This is a pretty stupid question. OF COURSE losing your two best defensive players - both starters - is going to significantly impact your team defense. We're pretty bad without them, we're pretty good with them. This should be obvious.

This thread should be dumped in the "Unnecessary Thread - Patently Obvious" trashbin posthaste.

The Rockets do not play well when missing key players... Has been the case all season. I know it is a real concern to Morey, he has discussed it numerous times. I know our lack of depth and youth is a big part of why the Rockets roll over when short handed.

It is part of why I don't think the Rockets are fundamentally flawed or suddenly bad. They are just lacking the best defensive center in the NBA and second best point guard.

I will say this.... If the Rockets cannot get a star, I wouldn't mind adding Taj Gibson to start over that head of garbage we have now. Howard/Beverley/Gibson would be a very good defense.

You people prop bev up so much

Last year in the playoffs, you guys said he shutdown Westbrook

The truth, Westbrook scored 28 on 1 leg

Last year you guys said he played great in the playoffs

The truth Jackson out played him

    Bev

    Above avg defender(below avg p&r)

    Avg 3 point shooter

    Good hustle guy

    = decent back up

Now come at me, with what everyone else does

    Something, something Lin

    Well **** Lin

Lin check out this season at the all-star break, so f him
