Harden playmakes for his teammates all the time, thats why he has the highest assist average on the team. If you are talking about setting screens then no he doesnt but thats because he isnt a big man like Duncan.
dont bother with this fool, his posts never have any supporting facts or evidence, hes basically larvs lite
Soooo you are telling me you would rather the rockets organization be worse off irl, either by giving Lin up for peanuts and/or losing out on however he can help our team, than deal with anonymous posters on an online msg board, whose comments you can simply ignore? Hmmm...
I think there's a difference between taking shots for the sake of taking shots, and actually looking for your shot. He feels the need to defer to harden and parsons most of the time, which is fine. They're also good players. I think they were both struggling last night so Lin was actually looking to score, which is different than his usual approach. I can't really quantify a person's state of mind so this is really more of an opinion.
sadly this sort of opinion is way too common. if you want Lin gone cause u think hes **** at basketball, awesome, fair game. if you want Lin gone cause your messageboard experience is suffering..... ******* get a grip
you know what the messed up part is? Even when lin is long gone from houston, this message board will still be talking about him incessantly, LOH on CF will still be tracking his progress until he retires
LOL There is no such thing as a LOH. When he is gone it will be like when Rafer was traded. Mass celebration and no one will care what happens to him.
Well, I was thinking the same thing. As a Lin fan, I feel embarrassing for them. As for Lin, I am disappointed in him for his defensive play. if he can not improve his defensive ability, then he will not have a bright future in NBA. He is not a Harden with the offensive force, who can be bad on defensive end at a time, Lin has to be good on the defensive end to be a good player. NY experience is over, no another team will let him to handle the ball as a star.
Yes but 1000x worse. The hate is so deep here. Do you really think that will dissapear instantly when he moves on? Let's be realistic here. Unfortunately, on the flip side, when he moves on and kills it on his new team, LOF will still troll this board with even more vengeance than they do now.
Let's just pretend any time anyone types "LOH" what they mean to type is "LOFH" lol, of which the GARM has many!
Lin fans need to learn how to read. I said I don't even care anymore, meaning I don't really want for Lin to be just given away which hurts our team, but if it happens I wouldn't care anymore either. I am just so sick of Lin this, Lin that by his groupies. Here is the thing, come the end of next season, Lin WILL NOT BE ON THE ROCKETS regardless. We don't want the 8-9M Lin, nor will he take 5M or less. He is leaving regardless of what anyone wants or does not want, I am simply eagerly awaiting for that to happen so his asinine groupies will leave.
I have never been one to doubt that him killing it individually if he moves on is a possibility. My question is why will anyone here care unless it's on a contending or at the very least quality playoff team? It's not impossible, but I don't think it's probable that he lands with any of the current elite teams and even if he did I would guess he would be in a somewhat similar role to what he has here. Then if you look through the next group of good teams it's hard to even find a landing spot where he wouldn't be a backup to the current starter. So in all likelihood when he moves on he's moving on to one of the crap teams. He could average 30 on a bad team and I don't think many here would care.
Lin certainly has a lot of upside potential, a lot of players in the league do, but not everyone can realize that potential, because it requires the opportunity and the right environment, Houston is certainly not the place for him to do that with Harden & Howard on the team. It easy to say that you should do this & that to adapt your new role, but few people can do it successfully when they roles changed. Can anyone image that Lin would sign with the Rockets had Houston have Harden & Howard already? It's not the Rockets fault that they signed Harden & Howard AFTER they got Lin, it's not Lin's fault either that his expected role with the team changed, and ho won't have the opportunity as he expected to have when signed that contract. The best he can do is to embrace the role, and improve his game. It's not easy, but he gets no choice.
Reasonable people like yourself would not care. I think you'd wish him well and move on. The other 80-90% of CF members will still be bickering about Lin, his new team, his stats, his role etc etc. It'll be like he never left.
"100% of LOFs will still be bickering about Lin's misuse, his new team, his new coach, his new ballhog teammates, his stats, his new role etc etc, on another message board" Fixed for you.
LOFs will leave with Lin. But if any LOHs still mention Lin after he's left, the LOFHs will come out as though Lin's still with the Rockets.
actually he was quite excited when we signed howard and even spent a few days with him in aspen. and last year, at least early in the season when they were freelancing, harden and lin combo was very effective. remember the "best backcourt in the nba" moniker early last season? i do think there's a system in place that if we choose to run it, we can have both of them be very effective on the court together. but that would require that the FO and coaches want to run that system, and that harden buys in as well. if walt and earl can make it work, no reason to think that they can't with a little work. and remember how everyone from morey on down insisted that they needed two playmakers on the court and that harden and lin can definitely work together. mchale himself talked about harden attacking from left and lin from right, etc... not sure if they actually believed what they were saying to the press, but based on pre-howard results, harden was by FAR most efficient when lin was on the court WITH him. now, the direction of the team has changed a lot. howard, james, and parsons all need their shots and touches. there's simply not enough touches and shots to go around if lin is in the mix. i think if we didn't have howard, lin probably would've still be in the starting lineup because you need more than just harden to create the offense for the 4 other guys. and if you plan to trade lin even as early as last summer, you can't rely on him too much to be a integral part of the team. that's just how it is. same with asik. having lin come off the bench is an ideal situation for everyone - the coaches can stick with the system they want to run; howard, james, and parsons get their shots and touches; lin gets his shots off the bench; if morey is somehow able to trade him, you're not losing much in the starting lineup; and you get a top defensive guy next to harden.
I doubt that. You don't see threads constantly popping up for Alston do you? Granted Alston did not have the same fans that Lin does, but the point is still the same; we don't care the same way about Lin like his fans does and when they are gone, we WILL move on. It happens with every player that leaves the team and Lin is nothing special for the rest of us.
