I heard Chelsea has a clause in the Courtois loan that says they have to pay a ridiculous sum of money to play him against them. Atletico might be ****ed.

Yep as CJLarson has just mentioned. Such bull$hit clauses might be something UEFA look into fixing in the next couple of years...unless a certain Russian owner (amongst others) convinces them otherwise.

If Chelsea do draw Atletico, the Courtois clause will cause enough of a furor that maybe UEFA and other European FA's might take action.

As an American who only recently came to love soccer (By watching European soccer and quickly realizing American soccer is absolute rubbish in comparison), I still find the loan system very puzzling. The transfer system I have no issues with, but the loan system puzzles me why a team has the right to w**** out its property and then get to decide to bring it back. Just another huge advantage to the cream of the crop which seems strangely capitalist to me.

It would make more sense if the loan worked more like the franchise tag system in the NFL, capped at one year, alas the economics are so vastly different and the transfer system varies greatly from the free agent system although in both the players are just different forms of property.

Many team use it like the NBA uses its D-league. Let the young player play at a lower level (like the Dutch eredivisie), and develop into a good player.

Some teams alos use it to try and get the club who is loaning the player te become interested in buying the player.

I believe the player has to agree to the loan.

Yeah this is a good way to explain it. Moes - it is also really to the advantage of the player because if he is coming up through a team's youth system but an entrenched veteran is already ahead of him, then he can have playing time on a lesser team in the same league or on a different team, etc. as opposed to wasting away on the bench. For the club, they have spent the investment either in the youth system or a more traditional transfer contract so they maintain his rights.

For smaller clubs look at Everton. Gareth Barry and Lukaku have been huge for them so that they might actually get a Champions League birth. Now they are trying to figure out a way to keep both.

So point is it is not all one sided.

Bayern should Win this one,Real almost lost to Dortmund

And Atleti should win vs Chelsea aswell,Diego Costa and Arda Turan should be back for These Matches, but I Heard Madrid's goal-keeper Courtois is Not allowed to Play vs Chelsea because the Blues still have his rights

UEFA issued a statement saying all clauses that prevent a player from playing are illegal, so that part of the contract is nullified and Courtois will be allowed to play.

Sadly, I'll miss the semi-finals because I will be on a trip around the world, but I'll be back for the final, hotel is booked.

No one wanted to come near Bayern Munich with a bargepole in the Champions League, let alone in the semi-finals. Widely tipped as heavy favourites to lift the crown, the Bavarians have the most compact, dangerous and settled side in the competition, with the most options and a system that is set up for their stars to flourish.
The stats make gruesome reading for their opponents. Bayern haven't lost in the knockout rounds for three years, since falling to Inter Milan in March 2011. Since then, they have chalked up two straight final appearances, finally tasting glory last year under Jupp Heynckes.
With a squad chock-full of quality, Bayern boast an embarrassment of riches and a coach, Pep Guardiola, who has taken them to the next level, making them a more sophisticated proposition going forward.

Majority of our fans are most scared of Atletico, trust me, people rather wanted to face Madrid or Chelsea. Atletico is on everyone's radar this season and we have great respect for them. Think we'll meet in the Final.

This is my first full year watching Champions and Premier League a couple of times a week, and I have to disagree. Bayern is very entertaining.
