I can't believe I'm saying this, but go Spurs. If they beat the Mavs, they've got the #1 seed virtually locked up(they ain't losing at home to the Lakers in their final regular season game). Which means Pop won't run all of his starters out there next Monday against the Rockets.

Why would we want Golden State to win?

Because then they have something to play for(the 5th seed) in that game against Portland next week. The Warriors have to keep pace with the Blazers.

You'd rather play Golden State over Portland?

No, I'd rather have home court than not have it. I don't care who we play in Round 1.

Ah. I see. I don't think you have to worry about home court. The Rockets will win another game and Portland will lose another game at the very least, and that's all we need.

I would much rather Portland keep with us and stay at 5, rather than Golden State catch up.

I hope so. The ideal scenario would've been for Portland to not hit that game-winning 3 against the Kings last night but then beat Golden State next week(with the Rockets obviously winning at least one more game). Then we get home court wrapped up quickly, rest our starters, and get to play the Blazers in Round 1.

My guess is the Spurs will play hard tonight to push towards clinching top seed. They have the Suns and Rockets next.

I doubt they will lay down like against the T-Wolves.

I see a lot of people wanting to play Portland for some reason. If Pat Bev isn't healthy by the time playoffs start, I don't want to play Portland at all. Lillard will single handedly take over and kill us. GS is someone we've always destroyed and the fact that they have an idiotic coach like Mark Jackson also helps us out a lot.

They aren't really all that different, yes, but if you're afraid of Lillard going off on us, why would you rather play Steph Curry? Steph >>>> Lillard without question.

Not to mention Iggy, Bogut, Thompson > Matthews, Lopez, Batum, in my opinion, though some might disagree.

Portland just seems to have better chemistry than GS. GS just has a lot of talent that they haven't been able to find the right chemistry with. In the playoffs, I'm more worried about a team that has chemistry than bunch of individual talents that can put a great statistical night but most likely wont win you the game.

Actually Pat missed an earlier game against the Blazers and Lin played Lillard very well. I think Lillard was 1-10. Portland did win that game and no way Lin does that again in a game, much less a series but I don't consider Lillard the threat Curry is.

Lillard will have nice games and maybe some "wow he can be a top 5 point guard" type game. But he isn't Curry. Curry, like he showed last playoffs, can turn a series on itself by his shooting. He is one of those players that if he gets hot, he can single handedly win the warriors a game or 2.

Couple that with Iggy's perimeter defense, Thompson's ability to catch fire and Bogut/Green constant baiting and hard fouls and the Warriors are probably the team that can upset a higher seed the most in the first round.

The problem with GS is, if they start hitting their jumpers... its game over.

Can't that be said about Portland as well? The thing that scares me about the Blazers is they have the kind of size that can give the Rockets fits. The Warriors in their current banged up state don't have that advantage. The fact that they're reliant on a washed up Jermaine O'Neal tells you all you need to know about the state of their big men.

No.. Curry is the best shooter in the game.. Klay is right behind him..

You really think Harden will guard Klay in a 7 game series well?

Either him or Matthews. Both will go off on Harden, but Harden will also outscore one or another.

I'd take Portland. Didn't Aldridge come from an injury a week ago or something like that? Also Barnes can come alive in playoffs just like last year.

That hasn't been the case at all the 4 times we've played. Every game Dwight has dominated down low and we score a ton of points in the paint. Portland has an absolutely garbage defense while Golden State actually knows how to defend.
