I just moved to Minnesota. I found AMAZING tickets to the game! Section 129 Row 1 (That's right behind the Rockets) I have never sat that close at a game in my life and might not get this lucky again. That being said I want to maximize the experience. I would love to get a autograph or take a picture with any of the team. How should I go about this? I don't want to be an annoying fan but, this is a huge opportunity for me!!! Clutch I know you go to the games (Don't know about away games). I would be forever in your debt if you could help me out.
Get there super early and get to your seat ASAP before the tip off. Don't ask for autographs until after the game and wait for the players to come back out (I hear they do that a lot)
Behind the bench! Should we look for the guy in a dress? Just kidding, good luck and hope they put a show on. Pics would be cool.
Wear a Keep Houston Beard t-shirt Or Drexlerisms for 5 cents ha ha ha _
remember - NEVER let them see you sweat! Oh, and if the game goes into overtime, I want you to have this expression the whole extra period: Plz encourage young, thin, top-heavy chicas to streak the court during the game. Oh, post pics of your proposed rox gear you will be wearing
Dude that's gonna be super amazing!!!! Once in a lifetime experience sitting behind your favorite teams' bench! Hope u have fun man take lots and lots of pictures and make a good memory of the game!
Is it in a courtside section? If it is you are granted access to the back tunnels. When I had courtside access in Boston I was able to meet Dwight Howard and Aaron Brooks backstage.
I remember when i sat behind the rockets bench, i was actually sitting directly behind Yao. Jeez was that a pain in the ass.
So you missed quarter of the game when Yao was on bench. I imagine it would have tough trying to see over him. HAHA
If you would like to take a picture with any from the team...Leave a trail of food! Sooner or later Dexter Pitman will show up. Take pictures but remember to be really quiet you don't want to spook him.
Sat first row behind the bench before at a Kings game and the security guard stopped us from getting anywhere close to Chandler Parsons lol. We could only sit and stare.
I live in the Bay Area and got great seats when the Rockets were in town in Dec. Sat a few rows behind the Warriors bench. I was able to get Bullard's attention before his courtside pregame report w/ Bill. He's such a cool guy. Extremely laid back, just another big Rockets fan. Anyway, he said he'd ask Dwight and Harden to come over by the scorer's table to sign autographs, but Howard ended up staying near the tunnel signing for the kids. Harden doesn't sign much, I guess. My advice is to hang near the visitor's tunnel about an hour and a half before tip off. If that doesn't work then try asking Bull for help. He'll definitely chat with you--especially if you're sporting Rox gear. If nothing else, you can get a cool pic with him and Bill.
Getting their during shoot around helps your chances of getting interaction. Once they retreat to the locker room after that, it becomes more difficult. Wear a Rockets uniform and hat and yell encouragement to them first and then ask politely if they would sign. Some will, some won't. Example: One time I showed up very early and got to a place that was right where the players had to walk to get from the locker room to the floor. It was still 45 minutes till game time, and several players came to sign for the kids. I stood behind the kids and while Shane Battier was signing for them, I mentioned how much of a fan I was of how he played the game and that I had bought his jersey that evening. He gave me a fist bump and said right on!
Don't listen to these bozos, treat the experience as a true Rockets game attendee would if they had those seats at Toyota Center. Show up with 3:15 left in the 2nd with a button up tucked into your jeans.
