The reviews are bad because of the price of the game. Should be a $30 game.

Look at the 360 as evidence of the type of support they will give the Kinect.....

Pretty Much means People don't need next generation since we can get the same games and save us $400 until they really come out with really good game.

To me what it highlights is that ANY upgrades between consoles, computers or any game playing devices we seen from now on are going to be small improvements to graphics and not a great deal else.

Gone are the days where you got a next gen system and you were blown away by the graphics upgrades. You look at a game like GTAV, not the best game graphically by any means, and yet some of the graphics on that are amazing by any standards. Hell you could make postcard perfect shots from screenshots on GTAV.

Graphics are what most people rate upgrades between systems on, and that's understandable. Since watching Microsofts cloud presentation I think it's going to be interesting to see how they make that works for the XBone.

The thing is, even if say Titanfall on Xbox had environments that could be completely destroyed because of cloud computing, 99% of people would still compare it to the 360 version just based on graphics.

I've said before that I think the pure console wars are over. Now we are just all buying content delivery devices. Just today I've played Titanfall on the XBone and hired a movie on Apple TV. I couldn't give a stuff about the logo on the box, it's the content I'm enjoying.

Give it a few more years and we will be able to do anything we want with ridiculous graphics, physics and everything else through our mobile phones.

They need to bring it out as online only in next gen. I'd burn another AU$100 on that!

Titanfall is a horrible example for this. The 360 port by Bluepoint just highlights how pathetic the XBO version is (from a technical standpoint). A "proper" next-gen game (from a technical standpoint) doesn't really highlight this as much, and it would possibly even highlight the counter-argument to your claim.

Those days don't seem gone to me. Infamous:SS looks substantially better than GTA for example (at 1080p and a much more solid framerate). And that's a launch game (at least in design) at a fraction of the budget of GTA.

I wouldn't necessarily disagree that the "wow" effect is perhaps smaller, but I also think these kind of arguments are also hindered by cherry picking and inaccurate memories. Some early 360/PS3 games certainly didn't wow anyone (Gun, Full Auto, etc.).

The 360 version would (or should) offer the same "cloud computing," so that would be legitimate criticisms.

Speak for yourself infamous looks bonkers and it's a launch game. I'm still confused though if Titanfall could only be made through "the power of the cloud", then why is it on 360?

Also anyone who would rather play titanfall at an average of 47 fps clearly hasn't played the game much. I can't stand having less than 100 fps on pc. (as has been said the game was optimized quite poorly)

Depends on who you're talking to and what they're in to. I've never finished a GTA game (I've played all of them except San Andreas), but I've beaten Red dead redemption, la noire, and infamous. Maybe I like the settings better?

Anyway your argument is that there aren't good games on next gen; that may have been true 3 months ago but it's no longer the case. Also if you think the graphical upgrades on infamous are minor compared to last gen you need your eyes examined by a medical professional.

Titanfall is an incredibly poor example of a next gen game graphically. It has nice skyboxes on some levels, but it's running on an engine which I would consider third place at best when it comes to eye candy.

I think the 360 version still uses their Azure Cloud or whatever the hell its called. But its a bunch of BS that it can only be done on Xbox. Its all but been confirmed that Titanfall 2 will be multi platform including the PS4 and I'm guessing you'll be doing the same things in that game plus more and it will somehow miraculously run on PS4 just fine.

I'm somewhat in the same boat. The only GTA I have finished is V. Never finished Liberty City, Vice City, or San Andreas. Wonderful games, but they didn't keep me interested. You might be right about the setting... I finished Red Dead Redemption but maybe because it was more refreshing than any GTA title I have played.

Next gen came around too early. They should have invested more time into their launch lineup. I was gifted an XBone with COD which I played < 15 hours. The only other game I care about up to this point is NBA.
Meanwhile I'm spending all of my gaming hours on my Xbox 360 and PS3. So many quality games that are relatively new: GTAV, Bioshock Infinity, Last of Us, Dark Souls 2, etc, etc.

I don't think it came around too early; the launch lineups could always be better. The bigger issue is all of the launch line up games that were delayed at the last second. I mean, Watch_dogs was being marketed as a bundle!

There's definitely a lot of good games on last gen, but I'm quite happy with my PS4. The flood of good games has really just started.

Admittedly I have a lot of "indie" games I bought as well, but I don't think a game has to be AAA to be enjoyable at this point. (The more the merrier of course)

Yeah, I know. I'm just being a smartass because it shocks me that people still believe the things Microsoft's PR says.

Next-gen came too late if anything. PS3/360 sales prove that (as do sales of XBO/PS4). People have voted with their dollars, and they seem to want new consoles. To be honest, the library of games on both platforms is very good compared to most launches of previous consoles.

2013 was a good year for the "old" systems, but that has been the case before too (PS2 was having games like FFXII, Persona 3/4, Okami, GoW 2, etc when 360/PS3 were coming out).

I actually have had a backlog of PS4 games that I can't seem to get through (though admittedly, I have been really busy with life/work).

I feel your pain my friend. I am still only an hour into Assassin's Creed 4 and I've had that game almost since launch. Not to mention my massive PS3 back catalog.

I'm always tempted,to,use my week vacation to just catch up on these games instead of actually going on vacation.

A man after my own heart. Although I don't usually take it off to play games, I just take the day off and end up playing games.

I actually missed this post earlier.
Why online only? I'd love a PS4/XBO (and PC) version of the game, but I'd rather it not be online only.

DD-only MAYBE (but only with a discount, like say $30).
