Canaan was shooting bricks out there though Daniels was hitting some nice 3s. I'm going to need to see more consistency. I still like Garcia/Casspi over these vipers.

Yeah -- the other thing I'd like to test out more is just how good he is getting loose on screens. He looks like he's pretty good on that front, but hard to tell in garbage time when defenses don't give max effort. Miller was able to recover and block one of his shots as well.

That could be a real help to an offense that often struggles when Harden is not running the show.

There's no doubt that he's an NBA caliber shooter though.

Also if there's nothing tangible, you can also say that they are the "glue" guy or they bring "a lot of energy" to the table

Canaan has one off night shooting the ball and all the naysayers come out of the woodwork in the game thread. He came into the game shooting over 40% from 3 so don't get your pitchforks out just yet. I know some of you are ready and waiting to burn him at the stake as soon as he fails, but he has been a pretty consistent outside shooter. Everybody has an off night from time to time. There just so happens to be one guy on the team that I won't mention by name that seems to string several such nights together and yet his stans feel he is above reproach. Give the rookie a break...for now at least.

Hopefully we get to see more Viper Squad as we play out the stretch. It was really fun to watch. The loss still sucked, but it softened the blow somewhat.

Yeah, that seems like a great idea. Add 2 or 3 rookies into the rotation 5 games before the playoffs. Smh.

Troy Daniels, best and most consistent 3pt shooter on the team.

Proven with a big sample size of 1.

I still don't understand how Casspi is getting PT over these young fellas. I completely understand not getting overly excited off of one performance, but c'mon, Omri hasn't shown up to a game since the preseason.

It's nice to know we have guys in our "system" who we can plug into the rotation at any time for an instant spark. Daniel's is the kind of shooter we've been needing off the bench. Hell... Plug him in with harden from time to time.

Excellent point. If nothing else works, just make the point that they are rookies with high potential, they could improve tremendously given playing time. Don't forget to emphasize the fit with Howard and Harden.

It is an excellent way to argue for a player and generate lots of followers from your thread.

Slow down there, buddy. It's one game in garbage time.

Maybe in the next couple of years.

Don't worry about it. I am pretty Canaan will shoot better in another game, and people will start to support Canaan again. Just wait until that time and be ready for it.

Casspi and Hamilton play like rookies. Nothing to lose.

If it means less Casspi and Hamilton, I am all for it. Those guys are scrubbing it up right now.

Darius Morris has done pretty well down there too, and he was a solid roational player when he was with the sixers earlier this season, could be a good rotational player as well if we move some pieces around in the summer

If Beverley and Howard come back healthy, we'll basically need only 15 minutes from Garcia.

I am just salivating at the thought of Daniels, Harden, and Parsons pouring it on during the playoffs.

If only the season could be 150 games!

Of all the teams in the NBA, I think only the Spurs and Rockets are starting to figure out how properly to use their D-league teams. We have a freakin' farm system now. Perhaps in the near future we may not even have to rely on picking up vet-min type guys like Casspi, Garcia, and Hamilton anymore.

But yea, until the rookies accrue more experience (i.e. next year), the sad but unfortunate truth is that Casspi, Garcia, and Hamilton will be playing meaningful minutes for us in the playoffs. I just hope that Hamilton rediscovers his shot, Garcia gets to match up against Kevin Durant (this will mean that we will be playing them in the WCF), and Casspi comes down with a nasty case of the flu. Sorry there's pretty much nothing redeeming about Casspi at this point. Can't shoot can't score can't defend and there's not really any hope for improvement this season either.

Yeah, garbage time against the nuggets starters that ran our starters off the court.
