The powers are different, the ending is different, and so are all the cut scenes in between for the story missions. I've had fun with papertrail. Half of it is in game, the other half is on a computer. It says it works on a tablet also, but I wasn't able to get it to work on my Galaxy Note. There are clues you find in game which need to be reviewed and sometimes played with or researched further on various fake websites they've made. It's not for everyone but it's been fun and challenging to me. (Admittedly I've cheated a little... Thanks www.reddit.com/r/infamous) Anyway, free content is always fun. I believe at the end of it you'll get another power, but I could be wrong.
Infamous is getting another nice patch http://blog.us.playstation.com/2014...ming-change-time-of-day-hud-off-30fps-option/ Ability to change the time of day (after finishing the game), ability to remove the HUD, and an option to lock the game at 30 FPS. Seems like they were listening to feedback (or at least NeoGAF).
It's mostly for picky people. When you have an "unlocked" framerate, that means the game can be one framerate at one moment, and another framerate the next. In bad cases, the difference can be pretty significant. While it is nicer to have a higher framerate, having large variations in framerates in generally a bad thing. This can cause "judder" in the games, as it is going from higher to lower framerates. There's also issues of screen tearing, though that is more about having a framerate that isn't divisible by 30 I believe. Along with visuals, you also have the issue of latency with controls. With a big variation in framerate, you might also have a big variation in latency with the controls. I.e., how long does it take the character in the game to respond to input you gave. To go to extremes, imagine a game that was 60+ FPS at some moments, but <1 FPS at others. One minute, you might be able to see your character respond almost instantly, while the other there seems to be some lag in their response (because it is taking longer to update frames). Infamous isn't THAT bad, but by locking the game at 30 FPS, you'll get less judder and more consistent control (i.e., better usage of player anticipation since the framerate will be much more consistent). Locking to 30 FPS is a tradeoff, and it is only good in certain situations. For Tomb Raider, the game ran unlocked on PS4, despite not being able to really stay at 60 FPS. They could have locked it at 30 FPS, but they decided to keep it unlocked instead. In that case, it seemed like the game stayed near 60 FPS most of the time, and it never really got that close to 30 anyway (at least not for extended periods of time). In that case, it seemed like keeping the framerate unlocked was better than locking it at 30. In the case of Infamous, it doesn't usually get that much higher than 30 I believe (maybe 40 tops?), so they might as well lock it at 30 for consistency. Killzone performed similarly I believe (hence why they offered the same sort of option).
I noticed a little slow down during huge fights if I used the ultimate ability. I don't really see a point in locking the framerate. I think it's nitpicking. My opinion of course.
Great news for us Xbox converts: The Last of Us: Remastered is coming to PS4. Hopefully it comes with the DLC, and looks great as well. This has been rumored for awhile, but someone caught a banner ad (since removed) for the game on psn. I thought it might be photoshopped, but they're saying it is confirmed real on reddit. I'm really excited since I missed out on this on PS3.
Haha, damn it I was updating the other thread with that news (plus other stuff though, so not that bad). The banner hasn't been removed (yet). You can see it right now. Or I can. https://store.sonyentertainmentnetwork.com/#!/en-us/home/games
This one was an excellent game. Loved it on PS3 I'm tempted to double dip wen it comes out for PS4, but if it's going to be $60 just for nicer graphics I'm not sure about that. Need to throw in some new modes in there, but I believe all the DLC is supposed to be included so that's something.
Even better. Huzzah. Yeah I wouldn't pay $60 for it if I'd played it before. I am very interested to see how far they go with the graphics. Rumor is Diablo 3 for PS4 is closer to release than people think; I predicted 3 months after the PC expansion, so they'd have to release it this month or early next to impress me. This is Blizzard...so I'm guessing August.
Think they'll include the expansion with the PS4 release? I'm not much of a PC gamer so I've never played Diablo before but was interested in getting it back when it was originally supposed to release in PS4's launch window Also want my free ps plus version of Driveclub which I guess isn't coming till September now, if that.
Yes! It comes with it. It will also include all of the recent updates. I've heard a lot of people who are strict PC gamers like the console version better. I also heard that it no longer sucks (the auction house really ruined the game for me), and not only that it is apparently amazeballs now. Lastest rumor for Driveclub is actually June 18th? or something like that. Anyway, I think it'll be out sooner than September (I wouldn't have said that a couple days ago). I'm excited to play it as well, but trying to temper expectations due to the wait.
http://www.amazon.com/The-Last-Us-Remastered-PlayStation-4/dp/B00JK00S0S/ Sony PR is also confirming this now. Guessing it won't be 60 FPS. That would have been glorious. Speaking of pretty PS4 games: http://a.pomf.se/jjmyjx.webm http://a.pomf.se/vcvggp.webm http://a.pomf.se/eitjxp.webm
Damn you release tba! I need to play this, I've waited too long. I'm looking forward to them finally announcing the GTA5 port as well.
http://blog.us.playstation.com/2014/04/09/the-last-of-us-remastered-coming-to-ps4-summer-2014/ Sounds like Naughty Dog is doing it. They have multiple teams, so I'm sure this won't hurt Uncharted 4. (it wasn't coming out this year anyway)
Yes that MLB 14 da Show looks very tasty indeed. I want it and I'm not even much of a baseball guy. Also not expecting a new Uncharted until the later half of next year. And like seclusion said Naughty Dog has multiple teams so it shouldn't affect production on the game. I wouldn't be surprised if they have another team working on a remastered Uncharted 1-3 bundle to release on PS4 before Uncharted 4's release. Hopefully the Witcher 3 releases early next year so I have plenty of time to devote to both games when I'm not working
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>For those asking, <a href="https://twitter.com/Naughty_Dog">@Naughty_Dog</a> is developing The Last of Us Remastered and we're targeting 60fps. More info to come. <a href="https://twitter.com/search?q=%23PS4&src=hash">#PS4</a></p>— Neil Druckmann (@Neil_Druckmann) <a href="https://twitter.com/Neil_Druckmann/statuses/453956735376424960">April 9, 2014</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script> So I was wrong about someone other than ND maybe doing it. Also, they are targeting 60 FPS apparently. Hope that works out.
Didn't buy Last of Us on PS3, but will pick it up for PS4. Sort of had a feeling they might port this game over. Wonder if they'll port GT6 as well.
OK, now I'm hyped: http://supergiantgames.com/index.php/2014/04/transistor-arrives-may-20-on-ps4-and-pc/ Transistor looked fantastic to me at last year's E3. This is by the team that created Bastion.
