Right after being indicted in to the HOF on Saturday wow http://abcnews.go.com/Sports/pro-wrestling-legend-ultimate-warrior-dead-54/story?id=23250160
Can somebody make a list of all the wrestlers who have now died "young"? It seems to be a higher incidence of death than any cancer, disease, or drug addiction combined.
seems possible... but it seems out of character... wasn't his personal slogan, "believe"...? The timing is quite odd... he returns to the WWE and is inducted into the hall of fame... where he, apparently, made curious speeches of his legacy sort of finally being cemented in history... then, suddenly... dies... Bizarre...
Wow he was on monday night raw last night and today he died... <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/xR08M6EUd0g" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Not trying to be insensitive or an ass, but it really does piss me off that people are making such a big deal about this. People are in "shock" and are so "upset" about an individual that they really didn't even know. I mean, is participating and "acting" (let's be honest: faking) a whole fiasco for so many years, and contributing to the the virtual theft of people's money really honorable? Yes, wrestling is fake. I used to be a huge fan myself, and I just don't understand the stigma around someone who really didn't make a valuable contribution to the world except for show. That being said, any death is of course, sad, and should be respectfully treated as such, and mourned. RIP.
I think even the most diehard of wrestling fans will admit its fake... but its still a form of entertainment that they accept/follow regardless of the fakeness, or staged matches. That being said, any "entertainment" that has this many deaths of people at a relatively young age should come under scrutiny.
Never been enough of a wrestling fan to pay tickets to see a show. I missed the attitude era and new age wwe never took off with me either. That said, to some fans, watching the man wrestle brought them many fond memories. It maybe united a father and son to tune in every Monday Night together. I mean who knows. Point being the man meant something to a lot of people beyond his fake acting. Technically professional athletes serve no real purpose other than ultimately to entertain and bet on. Yet I can tell you when my dad was fighting lung cancer during the Rockets back to back championship years, it really brought my family together. We'd buy the playoff PPVs. Other neighbors close by would show up and watch with us. And my dad was there. We could all focus on the Rockets and got the luxury of watching them win it all twice through all its roller coasters with every playoff series and forget briefly that hey dad has terminal cancer and he may not make it. Time flies. Point is, these famous people/athletes that die mean something to someone and probably many. You may not get it, but then again you don't have to.
Do you think people that make films, television and musicals are thiefs also? Because they also are "fake" what about the Harlem Globetrotters, should they be ashamed because they are never going to lose to the Washington Generals? No, because it is just entertainment! Why should they have to really beat each other up as bad as they can if they can work the whole thing and get the same response from people? I mean honestly, the Undertaker losing at Wrestlemania was scripted and so called "fake" but it was still the most shocking thing I have ever seen happen in sports or entertainment! It was more entertaining than any Floyd Mayweather fight and it was more entertaining than any UFC fight that I have ever seen and I knew that the whole thing was "fake"
Wrestling is fake? No kidding. Glad that captain america guy is legit. I'm shocked cause of the age factor and how we just saw him on television. I mean, if he wasn't on television 24 hours ago, I could see myself saying, yeah, saw that coming. He looked good. He looked in good shape.
To be honest, I'm surprised he passed away before Scott Hall did after watching that ESPN segment last year. I wasn't a big Ultimate Warrior fan as others, I got into wrestling around '93 where he was already on the downside and wasn't part of the story line. I don't even count his WCW days, he was under utilized during his short stint. +
RIP Warrior, you crazy ****. Don't do steroids, kids. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/KGeIWEBDeuE" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
The Scott hall segment was insane. He is on so many drugs now because of the stuff he did back in the day
If you had just started with the bolded section, you wouldn't have succeeded in being insensitive or an ass (only terrible at grammar). Pretty spectacular display considering you weren't even trying!
To paraphrase Han Solo... Thanks Professor. I'm glad you're here to tell us these things. A fiasco?? It's been pretty firmly acknowledged as performance sport and entertainment for decades. And, honestly, anyone with a brain far far longer. The only difference between professional wrestling and any other show is that thousands and thousands of people go see it performed live every week. Otherwise it's no different. And of course, most importantly, calling someone's professional work a fiasco and theft on the occasion of their death doesn't make you cool or somehow above it. It just makes you an a$$hole.
