It's like one of those "choose your adventure" stories, where on
each page you make a decision, and it tells you which page to jump to.

Except in this case, we've landed on a certain page, and we wished we had
chosen a different decision earlier on, BUT STILL want to be on this page.

As per poster earlier, if we did keep Goran, we'd probably have this scenario.

    Possibly no JHarden, no DHoward.

Dragic would have been crazy as hell to turn down the security of having that extra year. Because he probably wouldn't be getting the type of opportunity as far as his productivity if he was here which would mean he wouldn't be as valued when he becomes a free agent.

The Rockets gutted the entire roster for expiring contracts, rookie contracts and draft pics.

Can't regret the strategy even though you know several from that roster was going to turn out good.

Lin replacing CP3 on the Clippers doesn't make him the new Chris Paul.

These are by and large independent decisions. You can gut out the teams and still keep pieces that you think that may pan out. Gutting out teams does not mean letting go everybody. If it's that easy, anybody can do it. The Harden trade just kinda fell to us last minute. Had that trade not happened, DH would have probably not come here. In the end, you can't just point to luck and call it great. The point is we could even be better.

It's true man. Friggin Andrea- oh, yeah, NOW she's a babe, 20 friggin years later. I understand where Clutch and some of you all are coming from, but I'm talking about the Dragic fanatics. It's like, please, go in the shower, tape your picture of Gordy on the shower rack, and do your business while you sing "Zdravljica." But please, for the love of God, keep the G.D. fanaticism out of the Rockets site.

No doubt, I was vehement about keeping Dragic, but it is complicated.

Yes, so? We're never going to get him- what's the point? I've seen Moses Malone leave the Rockets and lead the 76ers to a championship; I've seen Scottie Pippen leave and help the Blazers get to the WCF; I've seen Mario Elie leave and earn a ring with San Antonio; I've seen Sam Cassell and Robert Horry leave to win rings with other teams; and I've seen numerous players leave our team and have breakouts with other teams (Lowry, Dragic, Gerald Green, etc.). Again, they're gone, the milk's spilt, blah, blah, blah. What's done is done.

All I care about is how Bev, Lin, and Canaan do in that position.

Pay Goran whatever he wants to bring him back in 2015. Frye is right. We missed out on all star point guard. While I was optimistic about the Lin signing, I had said at the time that Dragic was a budding star and it would be a mistake to let him go at any price.

Looks like he proved me right.

    Huh?

How about spend the money to get the likes of Bosh or Love instead of Goran freaking Dragic? The Heats tell me we don't need a dominant PG to win a championship.

Jesus. I do not care about an opinion by a NBA player not on the Rockets about the Rockets. This is not Zach Lowe speaking. The guy has absolutely no cred as a NBA analysts. He is supporting a team mate. What he says means nothing to a Rockets fan. Just more garbage cluttering up NBA boards. Absolutely nothing more.

    :p Is this tricky picture?

I want to see some old threads with dragic because I remember many wishing him good riddance after the skid to miss playoffs.

And the Rockets have a dominant PG. His name is Harden.

It drives me nuts that Rockets fans do not have the sense to understand team building. Morey is a master. The Spurs are uber-masters. Bev is so good on the Rockets because of fit. Does Dragic have much more talent than Bev? Certainly. Would Dragic increase the Rockets total wins over a season? Extremely doubtful. Every moment the ball is not in Harden's hands is a wasted opportunity. Would rostering Dragic keep the ball out of Harden's hands? Almost certainly. People just go with Morey's decisions.

In this case, we have Harden to counter that. ;)
