[BR] Patrick Beverley Breaks Down What Makes Him the Peskiest Defender in the NBA

Years of Rafer trained me to see a PG going into the lane and attempting a 'teardrop' shot and immediately scream 'Nooo!!' .. but then I see Bev MAKE that shot regularly, so I have stopped reacting so negatively toward it

Lin is equally deserving to start too. People just made too much of a deal out of it. I actually like the energy of the team when they both are on the court.

At the beginning of the season I loved Bev. As an 18 or so MPG contributor.

I was wrong.

One thing else I love about this man is that he is the first to give Lin his props when Lin is in and Bev is on the bench. It looks sincere.

My fear is that if the Rox make a play for Melo PJax will listen and demand, in addition to the draft choices, is two of the three: Bev, Parsons and TJo. I'd give TJo and the draft picks but I would HateHateHate to give up either of the other two.

 

Patrick Beverley works on being mentally tough during the off season by punching babies in the face.

 

In the morning he puts on puppy slippers. It'd be cutesy if they weren't real puppies.

 

Bev was in Russia for a while. I'm sure he wrestled some Bears.

 

Beverley might be my favorite player.

 

He's a consummate professional and I hope he retires a Rocket.

 

The ladies love the squeak noise they make whenever he takes a step.

 

I'm sure he can stare Putin in the eyes better than Obama can. :grin:

 

Love Bev and the article, but it still irks me that he doesn't go in-depth with film. I know he states his reason, but I think a player could still learn so much from film. If only Battier was back on this team, I feel like Bev would appreciate watching film more and become an even stronger defender.

He's still young though, so maybe one day he'll change his views on the topic.

 

I'm sure he watches film in regards to team defense when the team is in a film session breaking down the opponents.

He just doesn't watch film on individual players that he will be guarding.

 

Yeah I understand that. I'm saying it'd still be beneficial overall to watch individual tendencies as well though.

 

A guy like Battier would teach Beverley to be much more lethal on defense. Adding discipline and smart would harness Beverley's natural talent, which is energy and quickness, for even more effective use.
