Where? When? We're in Season 4 and are still in Book 3. They might not even get into Book 4 this season and if they do then it wouldn't be all of it. You'd have 3 seasons to cover Book 4 (or what isn't covered this season), Book 5, Book 6 (which hasn't been finished yet) and Book 7 (which hasn't even been started). Not gonna happen. While the show creators have been told how the story ends just in case GRRM dies, I don't think they're going to let the show overtake the books. Just going by Martin's schedule. The fastest he could write a book would be 3 years. So the fastest he could've put out Winds of Winter would be this year (not gonna happen) and then Dream of Spring in 2017 (but probably not). I think best case is to have the last book release some time in 2018 (maybe 2019), when the show would be in it's 8th season. My best guess is that Books 4 & 5 will end up as 3 seasons (5, 6, & 7) and that the last 2 books will be either 2 or 3 seasons (possibly stretched to 4 if HBO wants to milk it). That would be a total of 9-11 seasons. They'd reach parts of the final book in season 9 or 10. It "should" be out by then.
They can air half a season and call it one season. Cable TV release schedules don't have to make any sense...
What's great also is that each subplot seems to have so much weight to it. Any one of them could be an integral part in determining the world's future. Except Arya I guess, but they compensate that with incredible scenes (Syrio, Jaqen, Tywin, Sandor).
Don't mess with the new Daario, he is the second dutch actor playing in this show (the red witch being the first). I havent watched the episode yet, so I cannot comment on how suitable he is in the role of Daario.
Its pretty bad, but the scenes they wrote for him didn't do him any favors. picking flowers for the girl he likes? wtf is that? nobody respects that ****. This is GoT. how about a couple of severed heads for the girl he likes?
The dislike of the new Daario would pale in comparison to Arya being changed. I think the internet would just be shut down from all of the rage.
I didn't have any problem with the new Daario, there wasn't enough time with the last one to make me feel attached. This new guy certainly deserves a little more screen time before I judge him since really the flower thing is from the writer's not really on his acting ability. He may end up being the better actor in the long run.
Agreed she is a perfect Arya, not need to change her. (ofcourse when she is 30 it will be more difficult to play a 14 year old) I wasnt that impressed with the acting skills of the previous Daario. So we will see how the Dutchmen does it.
She can't be 14 in all of the books can she? I think they'll also have an issue with actors dying. No joke. Walder Frey (actor) is 72 and Selmy is 66. I don't know how much longer they are in the book, but if Selmy is supposed to be a major character for awhile, it may be hard for him to pull off an active knight in 5 or 6 years if the show goes that long. Like I said, the only reason people are upset about the Daario change is because of the striking change in the appearance. They just look so vastly different it's hard to fathom they are playing the same character. (Spoiler for size, not spoilers) Spoiler
This is more a discussion for the spoiler version of this thread, I will comment on your post in that thread. Spoiler http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=252557&page=2
The one who has been the most jarring for me is Brand - that kid is growing rapidly into a really weird-looking dude.
she just needs to lose some weight. it doesn't make sense to be out in the woods on the run and gain pounds.
I have not read the books, but I have noticed the kid being called, at various times, Bran, Brand, and Brandon. Which is the actual real name?
Her character will be 14 for several more years on TV. The timing would be right for the change next year.
