Dario was totally Jorah-ing it up last night. Make room on the friendzone bus! He better start being a badass again or Dany might just start lezzing out with that black chick.
The old Darrio left for a movie role, they didn't choose to recast him. Having said that, there was no need to completely redo the character. He went from big swaggerific badass, to just some swooning guy.
I believe Jamie is being flippant when he mentions supper as a nice place to start in response to Tywin asking what he wants.
http://grantland.com/podcasts/ grantland has an hour long podcast on the premier. they always do a good job with their synopsis. book question (sry): Spoiler In the books, doesn't Jamie become disinterested in Cersei? Not the other way around.
Yes thats true, also I hope they don't leave this out. Spoiler Jaime doesn't really care for Joffrey, never thought of him as a son, I hope they show the same indifference he has towards him in the show
So with what's left of the books that are currently written, plus the 2 that are still to come. How many more seasons are we looking at? 9? haha this show is just going to go on forever. Which I don't mind. But I could see how keeping stars happy with their pay after 12 seasons could be difficult.
Spoiler I wasn't watching too closely, but I thought maybe they had Jorah do that bit? Either way, super-lame that there's no Strong Belwas.
The child actors outgrowing their parts could also be a factor in keeping it short. I know a lot of time passes in the novels but seeing the kids grow that much could be tough to work into the show.
Im surprised so many people are mad about the Daario change, most book readers I know hated the old Daario. I'm in that boat also, I just thought the old Darrio looked just like some sissy pretty boy, and the new one has more of a gritty yet charming feel.
Very good first episode. This is a series that gets it. No following 2 characters around for an hour while one of them decides to leave the other on his death bed to go eat chocolate pudding and lose his damn shoe in the process.
Thats actually what works so well for this show. There is no one central plot they have to stick to, just multiple sub-plots. Realistically the top characters probably only have an hour of total screen time all season, so it never drags.
