The fact that he's keeping company with Marshall Henderson is a bit disturbing, actually

He's about to start getting paid for real now, the guy knows what's up. Has fun in college, takes his job seriously. I don't see him drinking much considering NFL players are starting to prep for the season now.

Ryan Leaf was a baller/alcoholic at WSU, not comparing the players by any means

but showing up on Saturdays vs showing up on Sundays are on two completely different realms

With all the drug addicts, alcoholic, murders, etc in the NFL... It's amazing with all the uproar over Johnny having a few beers.

WTF is Manziel doing hanging out with Marshal Henderson?

I'm beginning to think he just doesn't understand why people worry. Either that, or it seems like a big FU to NFL GM's that were concerned.. Neither seems like a good message to GM's. He just needed to lay low for something like 4 months. The fact that he is incapable or unwilling to do that leading into the draft would make me worry about whether he can limit himself once he gets paid.

If I'm his agent, I'm kicking his @ss if he leaves the house between now and the draft for any reason but going to the supermarket or church. Dance the dance with the NFL GM's if you want to be the belle of the ball come draft day, Johnny.

Some will say you/we're overreacting, not a big deal, etc. but I'm right there with you.

Dude can't stay out of the spotlight.

"You go to a NBA game. I'm watching on TV at my house, all they're talking about is Johnny Manziel. Next thing I know you're with Nolan Ryan. Now in San Diego throwing out the first pitch. You're all over the map. Then the Manning Academy and that was a great story. I don't know what the hell happened. Then SEC Media Days. Now you're with the Angels. Is that Pujols? You're at the ESPYs. You're on ESPN every day. Is that LeBron James? You know Drake? How much do I have to deal with? Is there a lot of maintenance?

    No sir.

    What am I getting?

I was asked to do a lot of things, certain things others weren't asked to do. My mom told me there's a time and place for everything. After the Heisman, I did too much, put too much on my plate and didn't say no enough and should've said no more and should've stayed in my realm, stayed in College Station and hung out.

Every time I turn on the TV you're on there. You're somewhere.

I never wanted it to be that way. I never wanted it to be like that. I'm not that kind of guy. I don't want my teammates to think what happened here is who I am. I want them to see me, that I'll do anything for them. I don't want them to think I'm high maintenance or take a lot of work to keep up. I'm a simple guy from a small town.

You got a lot of distractions, a lot of responsibilities. Everybody wants to see you, be around you. As the head coach, I don't want to see you on TV. I want you in your room, resting. We have a long season, a lot of head of us. There's nothing for me to worry about, is there?

    No sir.

Some teams picking in the top five, they all need QBs. If you become the face of one of these teams, right away, everyone will want you. Everyone wants you doing commercials, going to functions, everyone wants to meet Johnny Manziel.

Football comes first, is more important and trumps anything. Football and my teammates, those are my focus. I don't care about being in public, being on the internet. That's not who I am. I don't need that attention now.

That was two weeks ago from Gruden's QB camp. Obviously a bunch of bull**** LOL.

Honestly, if I were his adviser, I'd have told him not to go to the Final Four at all. Being photographed in public reinforces negative perceptions. And if Henderson just wanted to snap a photo, he should have realized how it would look and said no. There have been plenty of NFL careers because of an inability to say that word.

I see no situation where Manziel benefits among GM'S by being seen in public before the draft. Any situation reinforces the negative characterizations that some have made. He would have gained so much by just proving he was capable of leaving all that stuff behind when it would benefit him.

    All of what stuff...???

Cameras and paparazzi follow him where ever he goes. If the dude went in took a 5h1t it would make news.... "He farted to loud _ don't draft him."

Teams that worry about stuff like this and search for choir boys throughout the draft usually end up drafting at the top of the draft.

Google "Johnny Manziel scouting report", and read everything under negatives that doesn't deal with on field performance.

Well, as I understand it, he's hoping and expecting to be picked at the top of the draft, so....

He didn't show up for the Super Bowl where he was going to be paid to show up and stayed training in San Diego. Ok it's the final four but in no way does it compare to the Super Bowl. I think him not showing up to the Super Bowl makes a bigger impression then him going to a little final four game. I mean a lot of guys where there like Watt and Russell Wilson and I'm sure others so are you going to say that about them too? Manziel is a human just like them

    JR is on the money.

Manziel is just paying lip service around the league and on the Gruden show lol

I wouldn't mind if he was a Cam/Luck type prospect.

Problem is he is nowhere close to their talent level with a complete lack of understanding of the pro game

Yea negatives. The past couple of pages in this thread is about a picture of him and some nobody at an event and nothing about his on field performance.

Teams like New England and Seattle draft misfits all the time. Guys that drop in the draft because of none related football issues. But people are scared of Johnny because he's popular.

I think Johnny won't go in the top of the draft because of his size. And I think NFL teams care about that with Johnny more than anything else.
