OKC was best the worst and best loss in that the team came out and gave the game back, but learned that they can't take their foot off the gas pedal just because they had a great half. While they committed the same sin in Denver, they were able to put themselves back together and take the game back. I'm not sure that happens without the loss to OKC. The 76ers was the worst technical loss. When you're 3 points up and the clock is down, you foul on the catch. Let them make their 2 FT's and force them to turn it into a game of fouls. I put that fully on McHale for not calling for the foul.
The steve blake game winner was the worst because of 3 reasons 1. Its the ****ing lakers 2. Hack-a-Dwight actually worked 3. Steve Nash straight up wrapping his arms around Lin so he couldn't contest the 3 The OKC collapse is a very close second though.
For me its: Games that expose our stagnant halfcourt offense -The OKC game where they flipped the "on" switch in the 2nd half -The Indiana blowout -The Memphis B2B Games that expose/exploit the weak points in our defense -Any game vs the Clippers or any game where some scrub center made Dwight looked silly on national TV/TNT
I'd have to go with Chicago. I thought we had turned a corner with team chemistry and we just flat out laid an egg and quit in that game, on national television.
I was at the Lakers game with my friend who's a die-hard Lakers fan. The fact that he was tweeting and instagramming the whole game about how Dwight still couldn't hit free throws, and that they still owned us just pissed me off to no end. Then when Blake hit that 3, I pretty much went apoplectic. The OKC loss where we had 73 and 19 split was pretty terrible too. But this team is 51-25, so it's all gravy. Remember.....51-25
Plus Howard gifted the Lakers 2 points by tipping in a missed shot by the Lakers in the first half and we lost by one point at the end. Could have won if that mistake didn't happen.
The OKC collapse. That one just burns more because what do I care that we lost to LA? They aren't in the playoffs and they wont be good for a long time, who cares if they win. But just losing to OKC the way we did was very bad.
The OKC loss, though ugly on national TV, was almost a schedule loss as it was on the second night of a back to back, and both Beverley and Asik was out. Also the whole team wasn't as gelled as now. The one-point loss to Lakers would definitely be regretted if we slip to #5 seed and lose home court advantage to POR and miss a chance to go to second round this season. Same reasoning for losses to PHI, ATL, UTA and SAC. One of the proud records the Rockets have set this season is the fact that we have yet to lose a game to sub-.500 teams in year 2014. The Spurs have lost all four games to the Thunder this season while we have won at least one against them without Howard and Beverley.
This one hurt most for me. We looked like world-killers in the first half. I was thinking, "If we can manhandle the Thunder, we might be able to win it all." After the game, I was wondering if that horrendous second half might kill the team's confidence altogether.
For me it was the last Clipper game. I thought the team might be ready to go to another level, and beat them, but we lost Howard and Beverley. Since then we've just been scuffling along trying to keep our head above water.
OKC lost, with 73 and 19. 76ers, We had no reason to lose this game. Lakers lost at home, Horrible.. lost. Horrible ending. Bulls lost on TV, was a big blow up. Horrible lost.
