Unbelievable topic with even a greater unbelievable response.

 

Jerry Lin is the Asian Bruce Lee.

 

Jackie Robinson doesn't play basketball.

Lin is the Asian Barack Obama.

 

A better question is, if Robinson lived in the internet age, how many ROFs would there be?

 

Okay. Let me try to get this logic down. A person is sick of Lin and/or his fans so he decides to make another Lin thread which may drawn in more Lin fans to argue about a stupid point probably brought up by 1 LOF. And as the LOFs and LOHs and trolls converge in this new thread, new opinions and arguments may emerge and than likely add to this perpetual cycle? This obsession is amazing.

 

Let me add a new a opinion which you guys can discuss...

I was reading the thread that spawned this one. One poster made a comment that Lin wasn't a Rosa Parks or Jackie Robinson in regards to racial history. Another poster disagreed and stated that Lin's story was, I believe the word was "analogous" to Robinsons. The resultant explosion was easily predicted.

 

I think these ppl secretly enjoy the constant arguing with the LOFs. Must give them something to do in life or make them feel important or give them an means to vent their stress. Who knows but I find it quite hilarious.

 

Um anyways let me start to argue for my new opinion.....Lin is like Jesus/God

1. God made the world in 7 days and Lin wears #7
2. Jesus was crucified and resurrected from the dead...Lin was cut by the Rox and brought back on a massive contract which would make most ppl come back from the grave..

 

I'm torn between amusement and sympathy. Once in a while something spurs me to reply but often I wonder if I'm just being baited. Silly internet.

 

If you are comparing what Jackie Robinson had to go thru in life with what Lin had to go thru, there is no comparison. When I was young in the winter I got a snowball with a rock in it throw at my head, my mother was attacked and later committed suicide, when my dad brought me home from work someone openly told his German Shepard to 'sic him'. But I am glad that Lin didn't have to go thru things like that. But it is difficult for me to relate to Jackie because the thing is I am not black, I am Asian. The racism I experienced, family values, tradition and culture or whatever we call it is just different. It is much easier for me or my family to look up to Lin as an inspirational model than Jackie Robinson because the experiences are much more alike. So I would say that he is not the Jackie Robinson of our time, but he is to "me".

 

I ****ing hate this pissing contest between Lin fans and those who aren't a fan of his.

It's ridiculous and has really made the GARM unbearable these days. I've been here since '08, and it never got this bad until Lin came. I like him, but this is too much.

 

I have said it many times. All these morons, LOFs and LOFHs, are trying to bring this forum down to the level of the ESPN boards.

There were Asian people that existed before Jeremy Lin .

He's just the civil rights hero and basketball idol and god like figure for his fans
