The problem with Lin is he tries to do too much. Tries too hard to create offense and make home run plays. If he were a stable PG who just brought the ball up the court, limited his TO's, and made open 3s, we'd have a good PG for this team. Then again Bev already does those things. It's all mindset though. Lin thinks the only way he can contribute is to make these home run plays, but if he were to watch Bev play he would realize we need a stable PG more than anything.
Hatred? Lol. But I admit its definitely frustrating watching Jeremy Lin make the dumbest mistakes I've seen a PG ever make. Mistakes he should've corrected in highschool, like picking up your dribble too soon, jumping in the air trying to pass, missing WIDE open players on a fastbreak etc. He does either one of these 3 things atleast once a game and his fans on here completely ignore it, while continuing to place blame elsewhere. Do I hate him? No. But as a long time Rocket fan, it's definitely frustrating watching us waste our salary cap space on a player who doesn't know basic fundamentals
Same here. Problem is he plays his best when he's got nothing to lose, which is the exact opposite with Bev out and us entering the playoffs with him on the frontline. Hoping for the best, but expecting the worst, is he gonna drop the bomb or not. Let us die young or let us live forever we dont
You know why Lin has so many "haters"? It's because warped fanatics like you translate criticism into hate. You take those things too personal. Stop being such a Jer-Emo.
I think the guy is hurt and is trying to cover it up. Back spasms can be played through but you can't operate as efficiently. I think he's hesitant to bring up another injury due to the already less than viable circumstances. This guys body can't hold up to NBA play which is sad.
I think he was trying to be aggressive but ended up being TOO aggressive (which is funny since we usually criticize him for being too passive) and he looked careless. I guess he tried to carve his own role with the starting lineup head-on and ended up failing pretty hard. He's still young so he will learn his own sweet spot eventually but when the team is in win now mode, we can't bet on future potential. Bev knows his role, his strengths fits in already with the team, and he's consistent at it. He's not spectacular, but he doesn't have to be (and I feel his intangibles make up for any on-court deficiencies). Lin will get there one day, but for now we are all going to be extremely frustrated with Lin. Lin-Only-Whatever or not.
I had said Spacing is the reason HOU lost in last game. It hurt Lin and Harden's FG and made TO worse when the defender took off their 1st option. Nobody here realized that. In the today interview, Harden pointed out the same thing. They need better spacing.
Lin is player who thrives with a fast pace and more spacing, but he has to develop to be a little more versatile. So far I am a little disappointed with him in this department. The coaches and the Houston system probably has not helped much in developing him. But frankly speaking, it is mainly on him. I think he himself would not be satisfied with his own growth. You can't only play one speed in this league, actually Jason Kidd pointed it out when he joined the New York Knicks and said he would teach Lin how to play in different paces. Hopefully Lin will figure it out and improve his game to another level.
THis is ridiculous, no one "hates" Lin, this is because he is humble, hard working and doesn't stir **** up. Like any other Rox though, he is not above criticism and his play right now sucks balls, which why a lot of ROCKET FANS are giving him crap, this would be the same if it was Dwight Howard stinking up the joint or Harden playing like crap or Parsons playing like crap. The difference is Lin is making 8M a year, when it is a vet min like Garcia playing like crap you mostly expect that since he is just vet min, but at 8M a year Lin shouldn't be outplayed by someone like Bev who is ona rookie scal contract. Right now Mchale looks like a genius for putting Lin at the bench, his play as a starter is just horrible.
You clearly missed the game thread 2 nights ago against the raptors. Hes not plahing fantastic but not as bad as some of you make it out to be. Certainly not enough to justify comments like go back to Korea.
I mean...he's playing pretty consistently bad... When you're paid 8 mil a year and playing like a guy who should be making no more than 2-3 mil a year, yeah, people are going to complain.
Can he still wear Nike? That's when it all went downhill....adidas are turrible shoes. Seriously though, he did ok tonight - obviously his shot is not there and the lift is not completely there - but at least he recognized that and smartly deferred to Harden more than normal/found the hot hand in Garcia and played better D in the 2nd half.
I think complaining is fine. And as has been pointed out before he is slightly underpaid but not grossly so. Just see the Jeremy Lin worth thread. But the hate is getting pretty irrational. He can't even have an average game. Its either have a great game or he sucks. It is what it is but it is disingenuos to suggest there are no haters.
Lin did not have a good shooting game against OKC and missed some layups that he generally makes at a high percentage. However, he took care of the ball, kept the offense moving, made some loose ball plays, and his defense was really good. Jackson got a few shots off, but didn't get past Lin many times and in the end scored 12 points on 5/12 shooting with Lin on the floor with only 2 points scored in the 4th quarter. Without Sefalosha or Westbrook, Jackson was the 3rd scoring option, so Lin handled his defensive assignment well. If Beverley had this performance, people on this site would be lauding him. I do wonder if Jeremy's back has been tightening up. He looks slightly stiff going up for some of his shots.
He did OK tonight when you consider how crappy his season has been since the first few months, he did ****TY if you consider his contract or expectations. He missed 4 layups, one of them on a 3 v 1 fast break with a wide open TJones at the rim when the game was super close. Stop making excuses for this joker. Oh his back is tight. Oh hes not wearing the right shoes. Oh he didnt take a picture with a hot girl last night. Whatever.
