condoms are like 95% effective. The other 5% is due to slip off, breakage, or leaving the condom inside.
If it breaks/slips the precum will not stay in the condom. Fluids move in the direction of less pressure. If there there is a break, the precum is going to move out. Chances are if the condom broke, it was not put on correctly. A lot of young people are unfamiliar with how to properly put on a condom or may think they have it on correctly.
