What are you guys seeing? Rooney never touches that ball. It's all Bastian's; who is arguably the best midfielder in the league. I suppose if you guys knew how great a defender that guy in the blue is, you would not have been so quick to say Rooney. Rooney never touches that ball.
Exactly. I don't even care much about the booking...it's just weird to me how so many people see something that isn't in the video .
wow some of you are ignoring some main things... i slowed the gif down for you. watch rooneys foot. rooneys foot goes down then toe ends UP. ball starts on ground ends UP in the air. sliders foot starts up ends DOWN. rooney punched it with his toe... slider may have touched the ball AFTER rooney kicked it. BUT THE QUESTION WAS WHO KICKED IT. ROONEY KICKED IT!
A foul and or card can be assessed even if the offender goes for the ball and connects with the ball, if the ref judges the challenge was reckless and put the player who had the ball in danger of injury. ATW believes Bayern Munich is the greatest thing to happen to the World and everyone should suck Toni Kroos' weiner every second of the day.
But it looks like the ball initially hits the turf (grass?) before going up. And Rooney toe is towards the top of the ball, so how would the ball go up if he hit it?
watch his foot swing from the ground upward as the ball is hit. his toe ends up after the ball leaves but before his toe is down. he toe punched the ball.
It's not towards the top of the ball when he actually hits the ball, he hits it with the toe a little under the middle of the ball, then he follows through and the toe goes upwards. Look close and you will get it. That's why you see the ball goes up a bit. Not possible on Bastians challenge.
Rooney is sprinting towards the ball and _hits_ it with his toe. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dA612y2pDjs And is this a rocket to you? Really? Come up with something better.
You really needed to start a thread on this in the hangout?? Jeez. Maybe they both touched the ball. Maybe one did and the other didn't. What's the point? What difference will it really make??
