i think they wanted asik. thats who they wanted before. they still need a center so i guess thats what they asked for. asik, parsons, and 2 firsts. 1 first and its a go. lin instead if asik and its a no brainer. its a tough call, and parsons is 5th in mpg in the nba. he was tireed on the end of a road trip tonight. the thing is when you are on a 8 game winning streak you dont want to mess with the team and get blamed whent hey lose the streak.
Parsons was also sick and injured, so even though he had a bad game after being the most consistent player on the rockets...you still can't knock him.

Who cares about assists? Such an overrated stat. So the guy holds the ball then passes to some other guy who makes a shot. Does that actually make for a good offense? Looking at Rondo's teams in the past, it sure doesn't. Team assists is a much better stat. Even then it's all about scoring the ball, assist or not.
Rox need legit ball handler and floor general and this is the department Rondo would have been able to help this team. Hindsight is 20/20 but that trade for Parsons and some picks looks good right now because I don't see how this team can go as far as we would like with out a legit floor leader. McHale lacks vision and innovative Xs and Os so I really feel this team would greatly benefit from having a floor general out there to set players up in more favorable positions offensively. If Rondo can get 18 assists with that Celtics team, just imagine how many assists and good setups he could get with more offensive talent around him.
I'm not going to look for the numbers, but I'm pretty sure the correlations between assists and wins, assists and points are pretty good.
Actually assist in the box score are the least significant stats when correlating wins. Someone posted the article in the dish recenlty. Rebounds was the most significant
The man love affair with Parsons will be over by the end of the Rockets playoff run. Let's just hope there's an offer still on the table thus offseason.

People didn't want Rondo because they overrated Parsons. Like I said when this thread was started, I'd give up Parsons, Asik, and Lin for Rondo in a heartbeat.
