Obviously seeing your quote below isn't worth even responding to this, but just for kicks.... Jeremy Lin is a very bad defender when it comes to keeping guys in front of him. McHale wanted to at least make D-Will work to get in the lane, and play-make.

Putting (sadly) their best perimeter defender on their best play-maker makes sense to me. Did it work.... no. Was Lin going to ball hawk D-Will and change the game because of his lock down defense on the ball... Hell no.

Is this REALLY a fireable offense people???... geezus.

Agree with you on this. There is also no big man mid range passing. That's what Noah, Tim Duncan and Rick Adelman do, have a big in the middle passing the ball, playmaking, looking over the top for cutters. This team is too 3point ball, any playmaking is mostly outside that line.

People defending McHale are just laughable.

It's painfully obvious, we will NEVER win a chip with him.

Joe Johnson is their 4th quarter guy and Harden was getting schooled. You dont just continue watching something that's not working. It's called 'making an adjustment.'

so it was bev's ghost who locked down parker, mike conley and curry in 3/ 4 meetings last year?

what more than like happened was:
Parsons volunteered and mchale just went with it.
just like last regular season when harden volunteered to guard durant, 37 points later by KD, it still didn't work.

    it happens.

Lin had played well against DWill in the past.

How was McHale to know Lin could do a good job on DWill again?!!

    Anyways... LIN SUX!

The Nets were also missing KG, AK47, Brooke Lopez, and Marcus Thornton.

This is the real key issue here. Look how much better the Clippers are with Doc Rivers and without Vinny Del Negro.

This late in the season, and McHale is experimenting with defensive lineups and offensive schemes, unsure of how to maximize the team. SMH.

I've seen your posts around but I think this is the first time we agree and you make a very good analogy.

People keep saying the Rockets have a good record and McHale is doing a good job. The Clippers did well last season too but everyone knew they weren't contenders just like the Rockets aren't this season. A good coach will make the Rockets a real threat in the West (with the current line-up).

Sorry, facts are not welcomed during a good old fashioned Lin bash.

Yeah right. I cant believe these sorry azz LOFs pointing out DWill had 0pts in the 4th when Lin was switched onto him. Nets were up by 8-10 pts almost the entire 4th quarter. DWill wasn't even trying then.

    Lin sux!
    + cant play D.

Morey has given Mchale a lot of works-in-progress. Mchale is probably spending most of his time turning his roster into nba players and lacks the time to develop plays and strategies. Half of McHale's guys develop under his tenor which is very good. I'm not against criticism but a lot of it isn't fair.

You realize that he gets paid millions to coach a professional basketball team. Lack of time to develop plays and strategies just doesn't cut it as an excuse for me, especially for a so called contending team.

8-10 points is only a 3 possession game. For a team that can rain 3s down on opponents especially with a player like James Harden, that is a manageable deficit. Measuring defensive effectiveness is an imperfect science but 2 data points that would seem to matter are pts scored against and FG% against. On those 2 measures, Lin did well on his 4th quarter defensive match up.

    FIAH McRIB!

This is my favorite thread on the board. I'm convinced that we're making McHale age like a President. That's right. You and me both
