But isn't that Sumlins offense? The spread offense? How would he have proven that? Wave off the coaches plays to prove his NFL worth?
At this point Clowney is the only other one I would not come away dissapointed if we stay with #1 pick.
Well then you are basically saying it has to be Clowney or you'll be upset because there is almost a zero percent chance that JFF is the pick. BOB is big about emphasizing team over individualism and JFF is a walking hype machine. Even if he had legit talent (debatable) his personality and the freak show carnival atmosphere that surrounds him would prevent him from being the pick.
I still think you are off base on the idividualism. He want's to win more than anything and to me, that is all about the team, not himself. Actually, for a while a kind of assumed we were not going to take Johnny and started hoping for a trade down. Then it seemed like a glimmer of hope, but utlimately it is all media spin and we really have know idea what BOB will do. I'd be "ok" with Clowney, but if not Johnny, I'd much rather a trade down.
Which is why JFF didn't have his pro day the same time as the rest of A&M right? He wanted his own personal pro day. Which is why he chose to do his pro day differently than everyone else....The focus is always on JFF as an individual. Also, if he wanted to win "more than anything", he'd be headed back to college for another chance at winning the national championship so don't give me that BS. However, everyone knew that the second he could get the hell out of College Station and declare for the draft he was going to jump at it....we knew that after his second or third start ever. He's an individualistic guy, not that there is anything wrong with that but it doesn't fit what BOB is trying to do with the team. You don't bring in a freak show main attraction when you are trying to build team unity.
Build team unity huh? Manziel has spent more time with Texans players this summer than the new coach.
Or he had his own pro day to not take away from the other guys trying to get a chance at the NFL. He knows the media will turn anything into a circus. And yes, when he is on the field, he wants to win more than anyone I've seen in college. I guess you have concluded that BOB want's a quiet guy at QB, kind of like the guy he just traded. There is nothing wrong with a brash talker that can back it up. And yes we already know you think JFF is pretty much a worthless POS that will not be able to back it up.
Do you know how many players, who want to "win more than anything", jump at the chance for the pros early? This should be the furthest thing from a criticism.
You pretty much spew the most BS, especially in the Manziel threads. Did you not notice that A&M had one of the worst defenses this past year? They were horrible. Agian, why do you hate him so much? Winzzzzzz?
You do know Football is a team game, right? I don't think you even watched A&M at all this year. And yes, Johnny had a busted up thumb on his throwing hand in those games. He was missing guys he hit on on a regular basis. This has been brought up before.
Maybe he did. But he didn't have his own personal pro day. It was also Mike Evans' pro day (as well as two other draft-eligible Aggie WRs).
