I predict we finally get it right. Clowney or Manziel is the pick if we stay at #1. $50 tip jar bet? Someone want to take the field and match me?
Is it possible to carbon date a person? Want to make sure we don't get Tejada'd. Or worse yet: "Chad Jordan"'d http://sports.yahoo.com/highschool/blog/prep_rally/post/21-year-old-poses-as-middle-school-football-play?urn=highschool-266086

News and notes from BOB's townhall meeting: - J.J. Watt will be moved around in the Crennel’s 3-4 defense. The Texans will be in nickel 70% of the time. - O’Brien called Watt the best defensive player in the NFL. - Head Coach Bill O’Brien has left the door open for the possible return of Danieal Manning to the Texans. - The Texans starting safeties will be strong safety D.J. Swearinger with newly signed Kendrick Lewis and Chris Clemons fighting for the free safety position. - O’Brien felt it was time for a fresh start for Matt Schaub and the organization, which led to the trade. - There will be a quarterback competition with Ryan Fitzpatrick, Case Keenum and T.J. Yates. O’Brien said there will be a drafted quarterback in camp and even mentioned there could be two rookies in camp. - O’Brien believes this team is not too far from winning. - The quarterback will have more control at the line of scrimmage. - O’Brien pointed out the team is being fiscally responsible in the lack of free agent movement. He also said the team is aware of what is available on the market and reminds that the team has 11 picks in the draft. - If the Texans draft Jadeveon Clowney, he will be used in more than one position. - Bill O’Brien feels the Texans offense does not have a slot wide receiver right now. He says it is an important piece of the offense. - As for the quarterback, O’Brien wants accuracy over a cannon arm for a starting quarterback in the NFL. Wants him to be the hardest working guy on the team. - O’Brien says the team’s practices will not be easy. All notes taken from Drew Dougherty and Deepi Sidhu. I always assumed that if the Texans drafted Clowney he was going to be moved all around the line along with Watt. They really will be a ferocious duo and be a nightmare for any OC
Texans should trade the #1 to Detroit for their 1st (#10) second rounder (#45) and a third rounder next year. #10-Anthony Barr #33-Jimmy Ward #45-Morgan Moses This gives the Texans an elite rushing prospect. Maybe not of the caliber of Clowney but Barr is going to be a great 3-4 rusher. Ward allows for the Texans to have a legit FS next to Swearinger. Morgan Moses shores up the right tackle day one.
If we're gonna be dealing the pick to a team in the 8-15 range, then their first round pick in 2015 will be a mandatory return, as well as most likely their second this year. Beyond that is when you start talking about who really wants the #1 overall. I think an additional 2nd would do it, but a third and sixth or some combination of the like could also get close. But the 1 and 2 this year + the 1 next year are mandatory. Going down from 1 to 10 would be a huge dropoff in terms of value.
I mean that they look alike. Bortles will have Schaub's hair by 2016. He can say all the right stuff that he wants, but I see through him. His game tape does not justify any of the hype he's receiving now. It's just another case of NFL scouts wearing beergoggles during the last call at the NFL draft. Everyone's squinting at him and wishing him to be this hottie 10, when in fact he's just a 6 who happens to be available.
Well the same thing is going on with the other 2 hyped QB's, there isn't a QB worthy of the top pick, so they've been trying to manufacture one for a long time now.
To extend the analogy, Bridgewater is the perfect fit for you. Not the girl of your dreams--in fact, you even distress over the fact that you can't fantasize about her. But for all the inflated perception you have of yourself (you damn narcissist) she is the one who checks all the boxes. She would prop you up and take you to new heights in your profession, your social status, and your emotional well-being. She's the medicine you've been holding out on taking but just need to shut up and drink. If your family practiced arranged marriage she would be their choice. And Manziel is Snooki. 4'11, not good looking at all, and in just one year's time you would look back on your decision and regret it to no end. But damn if she doesn't make the most of what she has. She'll strut around every room as if she were the most important person in it. And once in a blue moon you just might believe her. You stupid idiot.
Meh, I see Bridgewater as a Kansas City 10....anywhere in the civilized world, they'd be a 7 at best, but in a sea of 4's and 5's they're the big fish.

Guys I just don't see getting 2 firsts and 2 seconds this year. Not with everyone trying to trade down and the fact that there is no Elite QB option that you need to jockey to #1 to get. Maybe my proposal was low but I would be happy to see the Texans get a 1st rounder in the 8-10 range along with a second rounder and a 2015 second rounder. But this is also probably because I think Barr is a more safe option than Clowney.
Then I don't see a deal getting done. The Texans can just pick Clowney themselves, there's no reason to do anyone else a favor.
all signs are pointing to clowney tbh even with very little talk about him.. while the media sucks off bortles and manziel, bob/rick are relaying messages that they can find a qb later.. <iframe style="display: none;" allowtransparency="true" id="rufous-sandbox" frameborder="0" scrolling="no"></iframe>
Yes. That does seem to be the message that they are putting out there. Unless... <iframe width="420" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/U_eZmEiyTo0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
I like this one better. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/H6iUg2chvEg" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
