Have you seen Claymore (similar to Berserk), Baccano! (same studio as Durarara!!), Elfen Lied, Hellsing Ultimate (not sure if you meant this or original above), Ergo Proxy, Kino's Journey, Mushi-Shi, Texhnolyze, Emma: A Victorian Romance, Gankutsuou: The Count of Monte Cristo, RahXephon, Paranoia Agent, Moribito (same director as GitS), Eden of the East (same director as GitS), Ouran High School Host Club, Twelve Kingdoms, or Dennō Coil? Those are also in no particular order, but all highly recommended.

Honestly I don't know what my taste is.

Mainly because most of the anime I watched was as a kid on toonami/adult swim. But after watching Attack ok Titan I've gained some interest towards anime.

I want to watch some more interesting ones. I'll check out gundam seed for sure though. Thanks.

I highly recommend Fate/Zero for those of you who haven't seen it. I'd rank this as one of the upper tier anime along with death note and code geass. I'd consider naruto/bleach to be lower to mid-tier anime. The production quality is flawless and the soundtrack amazing. The action sequences are awesome.

Basically, its a story about 7 different magi participating in whats called the "Holy Grail War" in present day to obtain the holy grail. The magi range from a mad serial killer, a military soldier, to a super martial arts priest. Some have no combat capability at all. To do this, each one has the ability to form a contract with 1 hero summoned from the past (ie: king arthur, alexander the great, gilgamesh to name a few). Anyways, they all duke it out in present day with a few twists here and there.

Also, if you want to get your mind blown in the same way that Old Boy did it, you should watch Mahou Shoujo Madoka★Magica. Looks like your typical magical girl/fairy anime for little girls... Nope dead wrong. Something big will happen as you watch it and it will be a clusterf**k. Can't spoil anymore than that or your experience will be ruined.

I think i'll check this out. It looks interesting. And the animation style looks good as well.

What are some other upper tier anime in your opinion?

If you like Ninja Scroll, be sure to check out Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust, which is by the same director (Yoshiaki Kawajiri) and is just as good (it's actually more polished, has better animation, and one of the best scores I'v heard in an anime, although there are reasons why one might still prefer Ninja Scroll). I think of these two films as something like the anime equivalent of James Cameron's Terminator 2 and Aliens. All four of these are actions movies that have some heart and, above all, have impeccable pacing. Both Cameron and Kawajiri know when to give the viewer time to breathe in their action films, which is something many action directors never seem to learn.

FWIW, the original language for Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust is actually English, so don't go around looking for a Japanese version. I'm pasting a Youtube video of the entire film below.

OK, this episode of kuroko basketball finally confirms it for me that kagami = Blake Griffin. That meteor jam looks exactly like what Blake Griffin did to mozgov and Perkins. Siiiiick

There are many who dislike the slow start though. The first episode in particular is just exposition. Cool for those who have watched/read Fate Stay/Night. But not so much for newer viewers.

Recently finished Attack on Titan, as my first anime series I gotta say it was better than I had expected, but way too depressing for me.

Nothing like a great game between Seirin and Yosen to pull me out of the Rockets induced mini depression. I can't wait for Season 3 to see Kagami vs the rest of the Generation of Miracles.
