Agreed. But Canaan is still in the testing period. If he had gotten playing time consistently with this squad throughout the season then maybe. But going against any of the PGs in the playoffs will be hard to watch. I don't see him standing a chance against any of them.
God the absolute hubris displayed by fans on this forum. And before you have to look it up that statement is not complementary.
lmao " the numbers are clear - canaan deserves to start over lin" too lazy to go back to quote who said that but good sht
0 chance Lin would have a bunch of good games in the play offs. I tried to give him the benefit if the doubt, but the guy is just not good enough. He's a one dimensional player. He really should be a fringe rotation guy. Not someone we are depending on. Canaan is much more talented. Mchale should start him, and bring up Troy Daniels and eliminate Lin from the rotation. Try something different because Lin is going to underachieve in the play offs. I'm 90% sure of that.
Wow. Granted he had a subpar game, but holy crap some of y'all are brutal and the definition of kneejerk. I sincerely hope he learns from this and uses it during the playoffs and we can get past the 1st round.
Yes. And the thing is, if Bev comes back And Lin continues to suck who in their right mind is going to say we shouldn't give Canaan those minutes? Canaan has gotten some burn and shown potential. Everyone knows he can shoot. If Bev comes back, and Lin subs in doing that dummy **** the coaching staff is going to be itching to put Canaan in because now they've seen him in action. Lin's days are numbered.
1 bad Lin game, 1 subpar Caanan game and boy o boy yall go crazy. what happened to the good Lin games recently (portland) that yall were also going nuts about but on the positive side. yall wont be satisfied until you have a player that never misses or does anything stupid
Jeremy, for better or worse, and I sincerely hope it gets better, is our starting point until Beverley returns, which probably won't be until next season if Bev lets his brain make the decision, not his incredibly competitive heart. So at this late date, post-trade deadline, with a rookie as the backup, the Rockets have no choice. I dearly wish that we'd kept AB, but Morey moved him for a young wing with potential and that ship has sailed. I posted an image earlier in this thread of the great actress of the 1930's and early 40's, Claudette Colbert, to poke fun at Lin's obvious case of nerves last night, and in my opinion, he deserved the dig, but the guy is it. Thrusting the Toy Canaan in the starting job with 10 games left before the playoffs would be lunacy, with all due respect to OMR. Lin needs this time getting comfortable as the starter, with both increased responsibility and minutes. Keep your fingers crossed, people. It's going to be a bumpy ride.
he's just bad against any team that plays hard man pressure. The defense pretty much knows what he's going to do
I expect Lin will continue to be the starter, but I'm not sure that's the best thing for the team. I thought Beverley was starting because he was a better fit with Harden. I'm thinking Canaan is a better substitute for Beverley than Lin is. I would not be shocked to see McHale make Canaan the starter before the end of the season, and say that he likes to keep Lin coming off the bench to lead the second unit.
that would be crazy, but given mchale i can see that happening...lol i remember last game everyone was calling for canaan to be sent down to D-League..."HE'S NOT READY, HE'S A SCRUB,"....oh man good ol clutch fans
