If Lin will be the most impactful Rockets on the floor, sadly we will have a huge problem, that means Harden and Howard both will suck at their worst. See that's the problem with LOF, they are expecting Lin to be the savior, be the superstar and be the man of this team. In reality, if only Lin can play like a solid role player with some consistency, that's all the Rockets can ask for. That's exactly what we expected from Bev, a solid role player, and will bring the energy consistently every game. No one expected Bev to be the superstar in this team, neither will should be Lin.
You realized he hit a bunch of 3 pointers to help us beat the Sonics right? http://www.kitsapsun.com/news/1997/may/12/maloney-unlikely-villain-in-sonics-fall/?print=1
lol, no1 is getting defensive here man. Chill with the attacks man, i was just adding something to think about.
they have had heroic performances in the playoffs before with other teams. The question is with Jeremy, will be a hero? I hope he becomes a hero.
the argument i'm articulating is not lin, rather it's the superstars. As you said, superstars are supposed to bring it and bring it every night, especially the playoffs. The issue is whether Harden and Howard will bring it. Harden I believe will, but Howard I am not so sure of, especially considering his recent injury combined with his back injury. Perhaps I'm in the wrong thread here since I'm really not even thinking about lin right now.
you realize you are calling maloney a hero of the playoffs? snicker. come on.. I thought you were better than this. maloney was one of the biggest issues with those teams and barkley openly pined for something better the whole time he was here. Our biggest issue through that era was 'getting a pg' Maloney was a mockery and to suggest otherwise makes you a mockery for those that know true rockets. Please do not try to re write the truth for our cfan youth. it is wrong. one must maintain strict adherence to the true rockets canon not maloney trash like this. Where are you from yankee boy?
Now you want to talk about the TO of Lin and even want to mention he is DOWN from 2.6 CAREER TO to this year's 2.6 TO! How awesome is that! yeah, but sadly you forgot to look at his assist and time played. His time played this year up to date is 28.8 min per game, last year? 32.2 mins. His assists per game this season is 4.2, last year? 6.1 assists. How awesome is that for Lin to scarify so much to lower that 0.1 TO? Oh, in case you still want to argue about this playing time, that probably want to blame McHale being a racist : For the season, Lin's mins per game : NOV : 30.1 DEC : 29.5 JAN : 32.9 FEB : 27.1 MAR : 23.3 Clearly, Rockets were playing at their best in Feb and Mar and funny thing is, those were the months that Lin playing the worse in the whole season and playing the least mins the whole season.
you realize we didn't win the series without matt? the reason for the choices are to show different levels of heroes. He was a hero that's how he got his contract.
I want to make sure I am understanding this correctly. for the record you are calling matt maloney a hero?
I simply noted the exaggeration of the facts. Now if you want to discuss the types and Nature of the TO's, that's a discussion for an entirely different thread which we can discuss at length IF you want to get into extensive breakdowns of the TYPES of TO's. Asst/TO's is a limited stat since they don't distinguish TO's from drives and offensive fouls. That however is a discussion for a different thread.
answer the damn question! Was maloney a god damned hero you fool !?? ARE YOU FROM NEW YORK CITY?!?!? This is how bad info gets passed around. The day I hear someone proclaim matt maloney a hero I have to raise up.
PRE ALL-STAR: 23.9, PPG 44.5%, 32.9%3PT FEB: 27.9PPG, 47.7%, 42.3%3PT MAR: 26.5PPG 50.9% FG, 44.9%3PT Clearly, Rockets were playing at their best in Feb and March and funny thing is, those were the months that Harden was playing the best in the whole season. People can warp anything to suit what they want, but do you honestly think it's more likely that the rockets were playing better because our backup PG with a shoddy back was playing less minutes, or because one of our franchise cornerstones in Harden is playing at an MVP-level?
I don't really understand the poll. Both Rafer Alston and Tracy McGrady both played well and elevated their games in the playoffs. I would have put "No, Luther Head like" or something to that effect.
Damn! Didn't realize how important Lin is to the team! We win or lose based on his play! So if we win it all does Lin get all the glory since he's the deciding factor? Wow! Good thing we are pay him superstar money since he is the deciding factor on whether we get a ring!
