The lovely thing is that the Rockets are up 5 in the loss column over the Blazers with 11 games left.
There are too many games left in the season for me to feel comfortable about Dwight resting. We are a few game slide away from losing HCA.
Well, you can't gauge the bench vs bench as the units are different. However, starters vs starters... a bit. Small sample size, but it will be something.
Dwight resting for the next 10 days will pay dividends. If Bev is able to come back for the playoffs and Dwight is 100% this will be a blip on the radar.
We fans actually get to see if they have progressed. The only real differences between this team and last years team after the trade deadline is the lack of a tested backup PG and Delfino. But as Kant said, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. We fans can hope.
Yeah, that's a huge assumption though. Dwight missing this much time this late in the season is very concerning. It's very important that we finish the season strong and he knows this. I'm afraid his ankle is a lot worse than most of us think. Bev coming back this season has an extremely low chance of happening.
Not quite. There are key pieces long gone. His last name starts with a "D". Man could guard some 5s and 4s the way Chuck Wagon did, hit the open 3, and set excellent screens. The bull dog of Argentina.
Remember when Chris Paul got injured? The Clippers kept on winning and it made them a stronger TEAM. It forced players to play out of their comfort range and DEVELOP. If Paul hadn't gotten injured Blake Griffin would not be top 4 in MVP discussion this season. Same can be said for the thunder, Westbrook's injury in a sense was a blessing. It forced the players to PLAY and as a result made the Thunder a better team from the bottom up. These injuries will help the rockets. They will give valuable minutes to Asik and Lin, players that need time to develop. They will force new players like Cannan to come out of the woodwork and prove their worth. And most of all they will test McHale, and undoubtedly prepare him for the playoffs. These injuries may be bad but the silver lining behind them is not a bad one.
