Lin doesn't have the same balls or edge Sam Cassell did.

Nah, lin will never be healthy.

Don't you remember when he was sucking so bad earlier and lof keep saying he has serious back issues?

I am sure you can use this to explain his performance in this coming postseason.

    Agree 101%.
I will not pin hope on Lin to be a hero for playoff success, but i want to see him do well, and i believe he will.
problem is, the bench is now depleted. There is no way Canaan give you 13 pts and 4-5 assists playing backup.

LOF didn't say he had back issues.

McHale said he had back issues. DNP said he had back issues. The Chronicle said he had back issues. Lin said he had back issues.

Parsons played like crap when his back was flaring as well.

As for his health going forward, I have NO idea how that's going to play out. Neither do you. It may wreck his career. It may not. However to say he'll "never" be healthy is a perfect example of hyperbole meant only to stoke an argument.

By the same token you could argue Beverley's never going to be healthy. He's missed more games than anyone not named Asik and has suffered abdominal strains x 2, a broken hand, and now a meniscus tear.

However, we forget that these guys are young. And that injuries are pretty random in the NBA. And unless the injuries are interconnected (like recurring knee, knee -> ankle), then the probability of them being connected is actually very low.

Keep sticking to that narrative though... maybe if you say it enough times it's going to come true.

Obvious you failed to understand the part regarding : Lin will never be healthy.

Yes bev had injuries, and he had games sucking as bad or even worse than Lin, but I have seen almost no one will use injuries as any excuses for the bad performance.

While in lin's case, lof will never want to admit the truth and they will always find a reason for it.

Here we go..let the bickering subside. Lin needs to go full HAM or not. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Uh, I guess you glossed over the comments in threads about Parsons shot being bad because his back was flaring? Or Harden's issues were partially related to his foot injury? Or Asik's had issues because he was injured and had a long lay off?

Selective reading + selective memory = bad.

Except for the facts that even parson himself won't use the back issue as the excuse for his stretch of bad shooting, and even Lin mentioned his health has no issue after the all star break in those bad games (mind you he did not rest or rehab during the as break but spent the break having fun in ny), even mc hale said at that time that everyone is having some king of nagging injuries all season long and that is not the excuse for the poor performance.

    Now who has selective memory?

Tinman, as much as I love you and wish for Lin's success...reality is this Rocket's team will go as far as Dwight Howard will. If dude shows up and plays to his strengths, then NBA CHAMPIONSHIP! If he continues to show up small against dudes like Steve Adams and Perkins....its gonna be a long 5 years in Houston.

He is an average NBA player who has played terrible against elite teams/defenses on average, not much to expect here.

Lin has no choice but to play well. The guy who really needs to be consistent in the playoffs is Parsons

He doesn't necessarily need to put up those #'s as we'll be getting higher offensive production out of the starting PG - Caanan will also likely get less court time than Lin would have as backup - rotations will adjust.
