Well the book makers are saying Miami are still gonna have a higher chance to reach the finals so what's your point? Book makers are giving the Spurs higher odds this year because that's based on their record and what they did last year, that's all they're saying with the odds.

If you're a real strategist though, you'll notice that the Spurs took everyone by surprise last year, while this year they're the alpha dogs and everyone's looking to take their head. Last year when someone loses to the Spurs they'll say "Haha, I got done in the by the old geezers, let's get them next time". This year everyone will bring their A-Game from round 1, and like what I said before a lot of the teams they'll face this year is better than last year. Maybe they'll still reach the finals, but they'll definitely have a harder time last year than this year. How do I know this? Because this is exactly the same pattern Miami had before.

When Miami won the first title, everyone was expecting OKC to give them a good fight and they were shocked when Mia took care of business and romped through the next season, hence the high odds last year. However when the playoffs came around, I don't think anyone can argue Miami had a harder time last year, they multiple game 7s and ultimately would have lost if Ray Allen hadn't drained that 3 or TD had grabbed that reb.

Spurs will definitely have a harder time reaching the finals this year than last year.

I think it's premature to include the Rockets. The Rockets have to show that they can beat the Spurs first in a 7 game series. They've looked good against the Spurs in the regular season, but that is the regular season. You can expect both teams to be different come playoff time with everything slowing down and every possession being valuable.

Just the thought of SA getting to the Finals is mind boggling, let alone possibly winning it.

I don't know why people dispute this...teams that win championships are generally 1st or 2nd seeding in the conference because you know things like home court advantage and playing the lower seeds etc..

But you know what, your unique my friend....maybe all the coaches and GM's in the history of the league have got it wrong...3rd seed or lower should be the aim

Spurs mostly healthy (save Green), rested, playing well and at the right time.

    Props to Pops!

If the Spurs lose somewhere along the way, it wont be due to lack of preparation or good timing.

Despite the rivalry, I don't hate the spurs much anymore.

They're tried and true and would be a team I'd root for.

This goes without saying, they are IMHO the class of the league, the FO is excellent, the coach is excellent, the franchise player is not just HOF skillwise but is also a leader on and off court as well (here's looking at you, Kobe), hell even the owner is decent and paid the lux tax even if they are one of the smaller markets in the league. And IMHO TD is the real MVP all those years before LBJ won his first MVP.

If I weren't a Rox fan I'd gladly root for them lol.

Spurs are 28-8 on the road.

Next best team (OKC) is 4.5 games behind.
