trade was on our table... we wouldn't include an extra first rounder. That's what I read

So is Beverly officially out for the year. He needs to get surgery and trim that meniscus so he can come back in time for playoffs.

Honestly, the biggest thing Lin should take away from Bev is those 2 huge steel round things Bev keeps between his legs. This is one the biggest flaws I see with Lin. He is not able to keep up his confidence and intensity when things don't seem to be rolling his way. Another way of putting it, is that Lin seems mentally weak enough that things easily get him down. Bev, even if he misses or gets beat, never loses his confidence or aggressiveness. He simply keeps grinding away. This is what I want Lin to learn from Bev before anything else. If Lin can take on some of Bev's personality or mentality, it will serve him very well.

beverly plays extremely hard almost every game and many minutes. it is just a matter of time until the body gives up. mchale should ease on the minutes for him and let lin share the minutes with the starter. parson has also played an outrageous amount of minutes too. mchale should do what the spurs do. keep the minutes down for the starters and ready for the playoff.

Yea, I was going to say the same thing. Can't really cherry pick 2 early season games and say CP3 was going off because of only Lin. It's a team game and when your offense struggles, the deficiencies will also show up in defense.

Why would david aldrige go on inside the nba and say the trade fell apart because the celtics wanted two firsts.

It makes sense that a rebuilding team would trade a player like rondo who is 28 and wants to win so he wont re-sign there.

Strawman. Up to this point, I saw no one cheering this injury.

That is one of the worst forums on the internet, most Blazer fans don't even like going there. They are absolutely delusional, they thought they could sweep us even if we were healthy?

We still beat Portland with this injury in 6.

I am not disagreeing with myself.

You can play great defense and still have the opposing player have a good game against you. See Robinson vs. Olajuwon.

Conversely, you can play bad defense and the opposing player can have a bad game.

The rockets were not willing to part way with Parsons...let alone with 2 1st round picks. That is why it never got to any stage.

It's unrealistic to expect our guards not getting picked and screened at all.

It need team defense and communication.

Lol at those saying lin is better offensively than bev and only 10% worse defensively.

Bev is much better than lin on defense. Lin is below average and bev is top 3. Bev takes care of the ball, runs the floor, and does not turn it over. He also shoots the three much better than lin which is what we need. They are almost the same in steals and finishing at the rim. Lin can pass better, that's all.

    I hope i am wrong.

just this week? how about opening night kemba goes bazerk on bev, bev goes out with injury, only for lin to save the day. there have been 24 games like that for lin this season, where he was one of the three big culprits for a victory. but people only want to think about the bad.

pat and lin compliment this team very well and that's what's going to be missed.

Aldridge said 1 pick was ok for the rockets, but the celtics would not let up and wanted 2 picks. That is when the trade talks died.

My point is 2 picks plus parsons is still a good deal. Especially if it was lin instead of asik.

    Bummer. Bummer. Bummer.

Was googling for players who suffered the same injury
to get a feeling of how long it'd take to heal.

    Here is one list.

    http://www.sportingnews.com/nba/sto...ade-rumors-torn-meniscus-blake-griffin-russel

Seems there is quite a range. I guess depends on severity.
Rose, Lin, Budinger, JR Smith, Bledsoe, etc etc...

Bummer bummer bummer. This has got knock on effects too.

If they move Lin to be with the starters, then the bench is,
how shall I put it gently, carp.

Putting on my coaches hat, we'll need to stagger Harden and Lin's
minutes and make sure at least one of them is always on the floor.

Either that or bring back Ronnie Brewer.

Pity Hamilton has regressed a bit since his hot start.

    Bummer bummer bummer.

what set me off was [from what I heard] Parsons was on the table, and for some reason Rockets refused to add another first rounder. Upset me because:

    1. Dwight claims he came here because of Parsons
    2. Dwight doesn't care for Rondo too much

We'd have been messing with chemistry

Wrong thread? I don't think this should be relevant anymore, leave the past in the past
