I don't get how Manziel is more likely to be amazing over Bridgewater, can someone explain that to me?

That's what I don't get about all this debate. People are finding weaknesses in the guy they DON'T want us to pick and saying that's the reason we shouldn't pick him - as if there is such a thing as a perfect QB anywhere. The thing that is making me lean towards Manziel is not his pro day itself (pro days don't mean ****, WE GOT IT already...), but the improvement he showed at his pro day. It doesn't prove he's going to be a future HOF'er, but it DOES show that he's worked harder than anyone else prior to his pro day IMO. That, to me, shows me something about his work ethic and how serious he is taking all of this.

Did johnny football look O.K ? (not just ok but a luis scola o.k) I'm sure we'll strike gold with the first pick, but got to get more impact players in the other rounds.

Honestly?.... And I know it's fool's gold... but, yeah - it bothered me that Bridgewater seemed to shrink from the expectations while Manziel thrived at their respective pro days. Look at that circus - and the guy was very nearly flawless. I certainly don't think it's irrelevant. We just watched a seemingly smart, competent QB get completely swallowed by the moment and implode two of our most promising seasons. I don't want to experience that anymore. It might not be able to execute, but Johnny Manziel will not shrink from any moment.
I understand you want to show the negative breakdowns with potentially drafting Johnny, but if you're going to do that at least find a more knowledgeable analyst than "Tim Hasselbeck" LOL.
Sure - TB, at his best, is a great pocket passer. But it would be in a fairly traditional way in a fairly traditional offense. At his best, Manziel has a chance to break the mold and force defenses to play the game differently (think of Michael Vick when he came onto the scene, if he'd been able to actually throw). Manziel doesn't play like Vick, but he's similar in that he's so different from the traditional NFL QB that defenses gameplan for. Being different gives your team a huge edge if you are able to take advantage of it. VY had the same potential, except the coach didn't was too conservative to advantage of it and VY had some mental breakdown issues, but its the same idea - high upside, high downside. An example of this is how the spread offenses of A&M and Mizzou made a mess of SEC defenses that were designed to dominate more traditional offenses.
Manziel was the most entertaining, exciting college player since Vince Young. I was amazed at some of the things he did, but I just don't think he is going number one.
But the "tape" is what made the pro-day relevant in the first place. The tape narrows down the options. Then people look for every little thing - combine, pro-day, interviews, etc - to sort through those narrowed down options. The tape got JM and TB into the top part of the first round (not Garrett Gilbert). The other stuff is to try to sort between #1 pick worthy vs #15 pick. I agree that pro-days and combines are silly and tell you very little of value, but when the margins are this close between several players, stupid stuff like that can be the deciding factor. If the tape was different enough between the two of them, then the pro-days wouldn't matter.
So Bridgewater could potentially be in the mold of a Montana/Brady/Manning while Manziel can be this mysterious qb with this unfathomable potential in the mold of an RG3/Vick despite not having their arm strength or raw speed I'll take the traditional pocket passer please and thank you If the spread worked, Cam Newton would have destroyed the NFL Alas he is learning how to be a pocket qb, that is how it always will be
