I haven't, my dad says he has though. Said he heard a voice that told him something pretty specific, something personal. I actually have felt something that seemed to feel like paranormal activity, its called sleep paralysis... Heres the story, i was like 13, sleeping and had the tv on at night (room was well lit) i slowley open my eyes, and im facing my door...and about a 8 foot black demon like monster starts walking towards my bed. In my mind, im freeking out im trying to hop up, scream and run away or something. But i couldn't move, or talk, or blink or anything... then i feel pressure on my chest like a 50-75 pound pressure on my chest/neck holding me down while i was trying to get the hell up... Then all the sudden i blink, everythings gone and I am able to move, i got up and ran to my parents room to sleep with them lol
Couldn't you also say that ghosts can be proven scientifically by evidence gathered by EVP recorders and Mel Meters?
Just because nothing's happened to you doesn't mean it isn't real. So many people around the world reporting similar things? Please. Apparently not everybody sees ghosts, and some see them differently (solid, translucent, shadow)
When I used to ride to school with my childhood friend April Aguirre her younger sister Jessie Ann could levitate things....A memorable "Don't Break the Ice" game featured her holding up an "ice" block for several seconds until her sister nudged her and made her drop it. We were kids so we thought nothing of it. But I remember it. I am sure there is some scientific explanation...but I can't sleuth it out.
I'm an atheist, and I would not believe in ghosts if I had not seen one I don't think. I will point out though -- Buddhism was originally atheistic, and they believed in ghosts and reincarnation.
To be fair, there is not solid evidence against any of it either. It's impossible to have evidence against it by default. Like most things in the world, we simply do not know.
I think that's the first time I've heard of an atheist basketball fan lol I don't think there's a single atheist in the NBA.
What "similar things"? Like what? Everybody who has seen ghosts or has claimed to have "felt" anything like that has seen too many movies or is longing for that attention. They get it, all right.
Lol how does this make sense? For one not everybody likes scary movies, second they don't go around telling everybody OMG I SAW A GHOST!!!! They just tell a couple of people in casual conversation most of the time, unless more than one person saw it. And by similar things as in obviously paranormal experiences. But hey ignorance is bliss!
Regarding the super natural, I believe we just have to keep an open mind about it. Even though our technology has improved so much in the past century, we still have a lot of things that we don't know about the world. What may not be proven today could be something else down the road. So you can't really say that the world is flat. Then a few hundred years later be proven wrong. With that said, I do believe in the paranormal. Maybe it's because of my background. But, there's just too many variables that makes me believe it exist.
Sometimes it takes more faith to believe we are alone in this world and that there is nothing other than life and death.... Our ability to retain humanity and emotions would be pointless.. Our memories and actions would have served no purpose... Sure we are smart but there are limitations to our own understanding. There are calculations about the universe that we cannot complete and a magnitude we will never comprehend. So why in the world should we deny something is impossible to exist when in reality there are footprints for such things... Once again, our memories and experiences would have meant nothing unless there is an afterlife. And an afterlife can exist in the physical but maybe in the spiritual realm... Is our brains and hearts that feel or could it possibly be our souls that contain such emotions like love, pain, care... Are these feelings human instinct or are they things we learn. If we are born with such emptions then I don't see why we cant possibly be born with souls and if we are born with souls then I don't see why our souls cant carry on even when the flesh has perished...
most atheist argue that the burden of proof relies on the believer, it just seems your "ghosts don't exist" argument follows the same suit
not to hi jack the thread, but has anyone been watching from dusk till dawn the series on netflix? a lot of paranormal boobs on the show. (puts on parachute) I did have this lucid dream where someone was typing on my keyboard. I could hear and wanted to get up but couldn't.
My step mother's father used to watch the home shopping network all day long with the volume real high. One day when I was a kid, a few months after he passed away, we all came home and heard something coming from the back bedroom. We went back there and found the TV (in the closet) on the home shopping network on almost full blast. And the closet door was closed. That was really weird...
I was driving to my house last night, around 11:30. I was on the expressway and there were no cars around me. All of the sudden, there were a set of headlights in my rearview mirror...maybe 30 feet behind me. I could see them clearly. Headlights and fog lights. I thought to myself, he has the whole freeway and he's right on my ass. I checked my speed and looked back up into the mirrir and the car was gone. Literally gone. There was no exit lane, He did not pull over, he did not pass me, he was not in my blind spot. G O N E GONE. It freaked me out a little.
For some reason I remember reading the US wasn't getting the Dusk till Dawn series on Netflix and I was disappointed, im going to have to check it out if it's available.
In 2009 I started chatting online to bebes and there was this one girl who was from somewhere in eastern Europe and it happened more than once but; Spoiler when were we talking/having cyber-sex I could feel hands moving all over my body. I asked her about it and she said "you can see me right?" Needless to say since then my 3rd eye has been wide freakin' open! And before anyone tells me that I was too high or whatever, I know what I felt and no one can convince me any different.
