Yes, and not every Aggie wants the Texans to draft Johnny at 1. Also, there are non-Aggie fans that want Johnny. This seems different than VY but there is still a bunch of time for the hype machine to grow but nothing like the V Y annoyance of 2006. Seems like everyone but Aggies wanted VY.

I wouldn't hold my breath on Manziel falling to the second round. He's going to be the talk of the league tomorrow and probably the guy most talked about leading up to the draft.

    Media star
    Success in college
    Big hands
    Good arm
Showed that he can adapt and learn

    Undersized

Yeah, he's gonna drop like an anchor.

If Manziel is on the board when Cleveland picks, he's gone. He would instantly wash away years of disappointment for that team. He'd get their fans excited again and get the town buzzing.

And does anyone take anything Jaws says seriously? Is there any reputable pro analyst who thinks Manziel is only worth a third other than him?

JFF has a 3/4 throwing motion.

Similar QB's that have had that throwing motion are marino and farve, however both were very good at changing that motion to accommodate the situation (ie: raising or lowering the release point of the ball)

Many many other qb's have had that same motion, its far from perfect but you can be successful with it.

Me too, if they do decide on Bortles then surely they will trade down and not pick him 1st pick.

Could be that they aren't "stars ".... Ahem..... Heisman. Plus the kid's family had the money to get him to the games. I don't see how Johnny sitting next to Foster at Rockets games, and being friends with LeBron are problematic.

Guy just had so much on his platter.... He was on top of the world.... Such a young age to suddenly have all that fame thrown at you. He's learned from it all.

If JFF could practice against Watt everyday, that alone would push him to become an amazing QB.

What ifs man....... You could put Manziel in there instead of Bridgewater.

At this rate..... I'm fine with Clowney, Manziel, or Bortles (lower pick)

Well, if the Texans do decide to replace Schaub with Manziel, I think that we can be certain that he will throw less pick 6's.

To you and me, no - that's not a problem. But the kid certainly lived the dream and really worked that celebrity QB angle to the hilt while at A&M. And the Manziel hype machine is on overdrive right now. I mean come on here: the Governor of Texas AND 41st POTUS at his Pro Day? That's a little much and if raises the question about what player you are getting: Johnny Football the celebrity QB or Johnny Manziel the professional QB. What happens when he's given the reins to your offense and becomes the face of your team? - that's the big unknown. Sure, he's now saying (and doing) the right things but don't forget for a moment that he's following the script laid out by his handlers. Again, nothing really wrong with that if you recognize it for what it is: a concentrated effort designed to make Manziel the first pick in the 2014 NFL draft.

That's my point. Looking back over the past 50 years of Houston professional sports, just how many of those "what ifs" have worked out in our favor? Especially for the pro football fans of Houston?

I don't think it's arrogance.... I think it's ignorance. Teddy is black... But you don't see the black community screaming for the Texans to draft Teddy. Case closed.

I know, he's just trying to con his way into a first round contract so he can become a heroin addict and rodeo clown. Don't fall for it Uncle Bob!

WTF??? It has NOTHING to do with which "community" is turning out for their guy. There's an entire organization surrounding Manziel whose sole purpose is to advance the brand. That's why he's got the Nike deal, the McDonald's commercial and the standing room only event yesterday. The intent is to dazzle one and all and it's working.

Con? Hardly - actually what Team Manziel is doing is quite brilliant if you take a step back and watch it unfold. Many years ago I read this book that talked about how to go about selling an image:

So what I see happening here is hardly novel nor unexpected.

I'm referring to the VY comment that fans only wanted him because he's black.. I said nothing about Johnny.

Back to Johnny... So you think the Texans are going to draft Johnny because of McDonald's commercials...? You act like McNair is hurting for money and or he needs a side show act to get fans to come to games. This isn't Jacksonville.
