Didnt Gabbert put on a show for his pro day? Made every throw and think he was clocked at a 4.57. Not saying Johnny will be a bust but dont get too excited over a freaking pro day.

He called it choreographed huh? Yeah that's what good football looks like.

Jon Gruden: “Steve Young is who I see when I watch Johnny Manziel’s tape. Lot of common ground: size, speed, playmaking ability and upside.”

Yeah I thought that was a weird comment, all pro days are choreographed.....that's why it's so easy to look good and so hard to look bad (for most people)

So we have Steve Young, Joe Montana, and Ben Roethlisburger in this draft class? Seems legit.

I wouldn't go that far... But I do know if he goes to a team like Cleveland _ I will draft him in my fantasy league. Not with my #1 pick tho...lol..

I agree. Johnny impresses me in games. This pro day stuff is just media hype. Some of those experts at first said Johnny was overrated etc now after the pro day they are praising his name.

Apparently he's a raving lunatic off camera that can't finish a sentence without using the F word.

typo, didnt mean 1 day of prep, meant 1 day of showcase lol

more inclined to believe how he throws with some1 actually guarding his WR instead of a wide open pass that hes practiced 100 times in his bubble

This is what coaches will tell you. It's all good for him to show improvement in the workouts he does, but what happens to his mechanics when the game is really on the line and it's not a broom coming at it but a 260lb pass rusher leading with the crown of his helmet?

We don't know how he will react in a real NFL game because he's never played in one. Neither has any other player in this year's draft.

Wow Scott van pelt is super annoyed with the overreaction, making fun of anyone who was wowed & now suddenly valuing him higher just because of this workout. "He reminds me too much of me when I was a kid- a BS'er." Heh heh heh.

Agreed, just don't think that public perception/backlash angle is even among the Texans' considerations at all. Strictly best football decision.

exactly, so the next closest thing is his game tape vs ncaa players. he put up numbers but looking @ tape theres clear problems with the way he throws and the way he reads

Is that when Teddy Bridgewater has his individual workouts...??? He should drink a gallon of cough syrup before his workout so he doesn't choke it up like he did on his pro day...
