But Vince was a hometown kid. Not trying to start something that's not there but to say most Houstonian's are on the Manziel bandwagon is not correct. It's not at Vince level.
Yea, black people just wanted VY because he was black _ had nothing to do with what he did on the field... Smh...
It wasn't a racist comment. If you listened to the radio during this debate it was a sure thing that if the caller was from UT or was black they were going to tell you why Vince Young was the greatest thing in the history of the planet and was going to revolutionize the QB position. (That was actually Rich Lord's words) I should have restricted myself to callers because that is what I meant.
I never said black people wanted Vince because he was black. I think it was more about his community ties to black people that followed him in HS. The local fervor for Manziel isn't even close to what it was for Vince. Not even close. You get a few Aggies creaming themselves on the radio for him sure, but when it was Vince it was out of control.
Probably sample selection bias. Call screeners aren't going to be very interested in putting on someone with an objective take. Doesn't make for good radio. They need hype.
This guy brings excitment, talent, and passion for the game everytime he steps on the field. I hate a&m so I'm not just saying this because he went there. This kid could bring so much to the Texans. DRAFT Johnny
Want to get on the record here: Benjamin to the tip jar if Texans draft and don't trade JFF2 with their first pick (be it #1 or a trade down).
Since racism implies some sort of denigration, please explain to me how what I said was racist when the comment encompassed not just black people but also anyone from UT which would presumably include many races. Get of your high horses folks. It was reality. Last post on this topic.
pro day doesnt mean anything lol id take the 100s of game tape over 1 day of preparation do you take jeremy lin's linsanity as a better represenation of who he is? Or do you take the other majority of his games?
Problem is this wasn't 1 day of preparation. He looks better because he worked hard for 3 months. No other QB in the class worked harder than JFF going into their pro day. No other QB showed growth between their freshmen year till now like JFF.
I don't have to explain a d@mn thing. If I think it was racist _ then it was... And if you feel you have to explain yourself (like you are doing) _ then you think it was too. But I agree lets move on.
