Looks disappointing. I don't like how they made the turtles look. Megan Fox Michael Bay Ehhh... Still forced to watch by my love of the turtles.
i got a 5 year old nephew who got into tmnt, and i watch the nickelodeon one with him. i think nickelodeon has actually done a good job with restoring the franchise.. i thought this was pretty cool... although my nephew didnt have a clue why i was laughing. <iframe src="http://media.mtvnservices.com/embed/mgid:arc:video:nick.com:fb460610-c753-49ee-8ec0-0d0f945d2957" frameborder="0" height="288" width="512"></iframe>Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Wormquake: "Dimensional Travel" the 87 tmnt had a cameo on the new show, they even brought back the voice actors for all the turtles.. <iframe src="//www.youtube.com/embed/ntWPdC9T9rw" allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="315" width="560"></iframe> as far as the movie, im probably going to pay to see it.. nostalgia!!
you can call michael bay movies ridiculous, over the top, plotless, uninspiring, etc. but one thing they aren't is flops. he knows how to butter his bread.
I dont think I have ever seen a Michael Bay movie trailer without the sound of choppers in the beginning.
i get why they went CGI with their appareance, to incorporate all the crazy action, but I always thought they did a pretty good job with their costumes in the originals..the actors moved fairly well in them. I wish they would have just done some improvements on those and made it a martial arts comedy. I hope there is a Vanilla Ice cameo, at least.
The *original* TMNT was on a month or two ago. I was watching and I thought the animatronics even then looked better than the CGI they're trying to use now. I have to imagine they've had advances that means they could do it even better now. Eh...what do I know?
You'd think so...Bay will make a ton of money, but i think this should have gone in another direction. <object width="560" height="315"><param name="movie" value="//www.youtube.com/v/IsejeSIII5s?version=3&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="//www.youtube.com/v/IsejeSIII5s?version=3&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="560" height="315" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>
i think the problem with most 80/90s comic to movie films is that the costume design was so identical to their cartoon versions. thats why the batman movies from the 90s looked so ridiculous, compare jack nicholson's joker to heath ledger's version... i dont have a problem with these new turtles at all, its going to have a dark feel to it, the original comic turtles were much darker, but these will still have elements from the 90s turtles. the clip even shows mikey being fairly goofy at the end there..
See that's what I'm talking about. That **** is still incredibly impressive to me. Honestly, they look real -- maybe I'm in the minority here.
Not necessarily. I think it's just a different take on things. You would NOT have christopher nolan's joker without jack nicholson's. I'm not saying the idea wasn't there since his take was intended to be based off the comics, but I'm saying nolan's take was intended to be almost completely opposite of that series. If there wasn't an initial series for it to compare to, who is to say? You could have had another silly joker type. (see: every voice appearance by Mark Hamill)
I can't say I read the original comics...but were they humorous as well? It just feels like Bay tried to make it darker, but yet humorous like the originals and that doesn't seem like a good fit IMO. I would think a darker story would mean serious personalities and that's not the vibe i'm getting.
Oh I don't think it's going to flop at all. Plenty of people will see it, but the movie will undoubtably be bad.
I'm pretty sure the last Nickelodeon Movies live-action film had a pretty good teaser trailer too... <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/e0ZjjMBXMpk" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
