I wonder if their recent struggles may open the door to a possible trade for Aldridge over the summer. Supposedly, we were "this close" to getting LMA before the Robin Lopez trade went through.

I meant seeds 5678...lower than 4th. But I do agree with you I don't want us to face the clippers either.

Wow Portland may miss the playoffs at this rate. LMA is definitely valuable seeing how they can't even beat Orlando without him.

Too bad because any of these other teams would give us more problems than POR.

Yup and LMA is not as efficient as many people believe. When you do not defend and you rely on your outside shooting, you will struggle eventually.

That is exactly what people said about the Rockets last season -- and it was true.

I agree, although in the case of the Rockets, atleast the outside shooting was set up with penetration. With the Blazers it is almost all just 3's and mid range jumpers from LMA.

Teams have stopped doubling Aldridge and helping in general which has hurt Portland.

I don't think they're quite this bad though.

    Don't think that's quite true.

LMA shoots almost everywhere inside the arc. Right wing (above average), right elbow (average), left elbow (elite), and at the rim (above average).

If LMA comes to Houston, his real benefit will be in giving everyone else more room and the team more versitility.

Lol that is the EXACT same thing I said when this thread was made and got bashed for it. Now even NBA.com has an article saying the same thing I said. They are a jump shooting team and won't go anywhere until that changes.

That shot chart doesn't really contradict anything I said.

His TS% is at .507 .... the lowest of his career

    His usage is at 30%

He is getting 23 points a game on 21 shots.

In the first half of the season, the question was whether to take their good play seriously.

Now in the waning moments of the regular season, the question is whether to take their collapse seriously.

A tale of two teams it seems.

We let them off the hook. We lost to ourselves. The blazers can't hold their water against OKC or the Spurs. Good luck blazers, because this is the one freebie you'll get in the playoffs.

The Rockets should offer Harden and Howard for Aldridge so they can get an FU from the Blazers sometime in July. #Dwightmare

So like what happens when they run into a team with more talent and better coaching? Will be interesting to see to say the least.
