This has nothing to do with his OLine and everything to do with people's perception of Johnny...like I said, 90% of the world thinks Johnny is more of a run around, create stuff out of nothing, kind of QB...which isnt the case. Thus the assertion that he's underrated as a pocket passer. He most definitely throws well from the pocket, even if he has 5 future hall of fame lineman protecting him. Also, if his line is as good as advertised, he shouldnt be facing pressure situations in the pocket that often, so the sample size is probably too small to even make a point regarding that.
This is what I usually expect from coaches like BOB. They would rather draft talent they can't do without than talent they feel they could coach up in a more raw prospect. I like Manziel and Bridgewater and will follow their careers wherever they go, but I think the Texans could go either way on this. And if BOB looks at QBs the way Kubiak looked at RBs/QBs, there is every reason to believe they go defense at 1.1 and QB at 2.1. In that case, it is likely the QB whose name he doesn't drop at every opportunity we should keep an eye on.
I take it as; all the teams that need a QB, will draft the 2nd and 3rd best QBs in the field (Johnny & Blake) over Teddy since they're projected top 10 picks right now. And the top rated QB won't go until the early 20s... Berzerk. So teams like the Texans, Raiders, Jags, and even Titans rather go after 2nd and 3rd fiddle over top dog. So confusing.
You are supposed to throw well from the pocket when you have the protection Manziel has had. Especially in a spread offense.
Instead put value in an edited TV segment that makes pretty much every QB look like a world beater every single year......the same BS that was comparing Tim Tebow to Steve Young....Yeah, that's exactly what you should put value in because it's pretty close to the only place you'll see anything that fits your narrative.
If he really wants Jimmy, you would think he would be keeping it on the down-low instead of talking him up so much.
Intelligence and play analysis skills are not rehearsed or Cam would have known the plays of his Auburn offense
Yeah but everyone knows that about Bridgewater, he's awesome at Madden and he might make a good coach one day, his problem is that just having the mind to be a QB isn't good enough at the NFL level.
Well whomever compared Tebow to Young should stop watching football. I put more value on game tape than some workout. Im not saying that for just Teddy B. That goes for Clowney, Bortles, and Johnny.
Or we can just pay him Schaub money to become our starting QB. After all the SEC is the Best EC. Right?
Maybe that is b/c he actually likes Manziels skill set and projects him to be good in the NFL. I don't think it is b/c he dislikes the other guys. For the most part I think he calls it like he sees it. Sometimes right, sometime wrong.
obvious difference with Tebow and his game why not draft Timmy Chang from Hawaii a few years ago? lol
That makes zero sense. I mentioned Tebow since you think success in SEC means success in NFL. Put Teddy in any conference and he will win and produce like always.
At the end of the first Gruden video, when he is speaking to the ESPN anchor, you can see that Jon is very high on Teddy. He didn't want to show it too much, but you could tell. Here's the thing. Once BOB gets some serious time with Teddy on the field and in the conference room in private sessions, it's going to be very difficult for him to pass on him.
