The fire made national news. Just saw an update on Fox. 5 alarm and 200 firefighters. Whoa that's a big fire.
The building is just a bunch of plywood and sheet rock. I don't think they had anything electrical even hooked up yet. But it went up FAST. It was an inferno 10 minutes after someone saw smoke. I can't see how this fire was started by anything other than arson. That's my (totally uneducated) opinion.
KTRK ABC 13 has this photo of the construction worker trying to put it out (the fire, not his PP) on the 5th floor.
Nvm saw the fire ladder on the other side of the picture. So they probably brought a ladder over to get him down.
I live 1/2 a mile down W. Dallas from this place. My dad saw the smoke from his office downtown at around 12:30 and called me thinking it could've been my complex. Since then my phone has been blowing up. That complex is completely torched. Really hope that any constructions workers that were on the job today made it out alright. Arson seems like a legit possibility. There were a number of people that were pissed about how this complex was built directly next to a cemetery.
wtf? are we supposed to leave cemetaries on developmental islands? crazy ppl.. but this is probably insurance fraud lol
well the headstones are really close to the property.. still, if people were rational.. it wouldn't matter. but I digress
My phone has been blowing up with people thinking it was the building I work in with that evil company logo on top and this was all retaliation for the events of 2008....
Seems to me the people who are concerned about cemeteries aren't the kind of people who turn to arson. Developers with money problems, on the other hand...
