By definition of FANS, or at least my definition, are people who root for a person or object and would like them/it to improve as much as possible to get the highest achievement possible.

As a Rockets Fan, I would like them to win a championship regardless what players are playing on the team.

Sometimes its an impossible expectations but that's what fans do.

Now, as far as Lin's fans, same could be said that they would like to see him succeed. And there is nothing wrong how high their expectations are.

Fans comes in all spectrum, some are delusional. But so what? let them enjoy it, there is no need to try to give them a dose of reality by insulting their intelligence or bashing what they're a fan of.

It is unreasonable to expect every fan to behave like yourselves. People are different.

Now I'd start Lin in the second half for this game. Bev is way off.

If it takes 10,000 hours to master a complex skill, as some say, I wouldn't bet against Lin at this point. *I wouldn't bet on him either, cause the odds are so stacked against him. But I give him a fighting chance to become a good starting PG someday.

IMO, we just can't know his potential yet, given how little basketball experience Lin has had. Playing in poor high school and college basketball programs, then sitting on the bench for the warriors. Lin's actual competitive basketball experience really comes down to his 27 games with the Knicks, and his time playing in Houston last year and this one.

(... I still think the Rockets should and will trade him.)

    Jrue Holiday > Lin
    Oladipo > Lin
Rubio is still on there > Lin

I'll give you Lakers, only because their PG is a mess and Dantoni knows Lin

I've watched Rubio play this entire season, no he is not better than Lin. Rubio is a horrible shooter, and horrible at finishing at the rim. I would take Lin anyday

We really don't know what Lin's upside is coz there's a track record of PG's blowing up after they leave Houston. lol

So you are saying it's OK for Lin to be a role model since he's a good person, no?

However, the biggest revelation for me during the game was something that I actually suspected. And that is that Harden pretty much controls McHale. Like we all know, McHale doesn't really coaches, the only reason why the Rockets are so good is because they are actually good, not because of McHale. There was a point where it seemed that McHale was going to put Lin back in after Beverley picked a foul. He seemed doubtful as to make the move. He looked at the bench, looked to the court but Harden just put his hand out like saying "calm down, don't worry." McHale wanted to grab Beverley's attention during the fts but Harden just told Beverley something and basically told McHale "leave it." I want to be cautious and say that this was not in any bad way. But it still gave away the notion that Harden is the "man" in Houston.

As far as I can tell, Lin is a good human being. If I had a boy, I wouldn't mind him acting like Lin. However, what I think of Lin as a Rockets player and Lin as a person are two entirely separate things.

In this offensive system, more minutes wouldn't really do Lin any good........ He'd get 13 points with 4 turnovers instead of 10 points with 3 turnovers.

Just lie low, and wait 'til he's traded. The Rox need a point guard who can shoot the three better, Lin needs to land on a good team whose offensive philosophy doesn't muzzle the midrange game.

Next season, the Rockets should have Harden play the point, and get good size for a shooting guard who can finish or shoot the three. Adding size to the backcourt would be the key for this club beating the Thunders and Clippers of the world. Bevs would play off the bench, and be more aggressive because foul trouble wouldn't be an issue. The Rox can then take a loss with a Lin trade..... And Lin will likely be in a more compatible situation.
