I don't recall TP or Rondo really being 3 pt shooters...

Rondo was a 2nd year player who averaged 10 pts and 5 ast. He was a role player the year they won the title.

That's why I said WITH the big 3. I am not actually counting him as a star, but he was the last pure PG that won. My point was, statistics is against winning it all when lead by a PG.

San Antonio, Detroit, and the Lakers have all won the championship with strong PGs. The Boston Celtics won 2 with quality PGs (Dennis Johnson, Rajon Rondo). Dallas won with Jason Kidd. Philly had Maurice Cheeks, one of the better PGs of his time. Jason Kidd also led a mediocre Nets teams to the finals twice. The teams without dominant PGs have won because they had otherworldly stars like Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Hakeem Olajuwon and Shaquile O'Neal. Are James Harden and Dwight Howard on that level?

I trust Beverly to dribble inside and score moreso than Lin. They eye test this season so far.....

In these couple of games, Bev's been better. Lin fumbles the ball in garbage time attacking the rim.

Yeah, I wish he would stop doing that as well and try to finish through contact.

Google when the Spurs last won a ring and when Celtics last won, then get back to me. ;)

    P. Beverley...34:06...3-10...2-7.. for 8pts ( 0 assist) in today Bobcats game.
Seriously, an NBA starting point guard with 0 assist?

    Lin...19:50...4-6...2-2...for 10pts ( 3 assists).
Lin's pick n roll play with Asik opened up the middle and got Harden going. They opened up the lead in the third when Lin was in the game.

In most of those cases in the last 20 years, the PG's were the 3rd or 4th best players on their team, and had otherworldly stars like Tim Duncan, Dirk Nowitski and Kevin Garnett.

LOFs: Lin at Norris Cole's level. Not Mario Chalmers.

    Lin got Harden going. LOL

LOF's will stop at nothing to give Lin credit for other people's play. Great. Of course when Yo-Yo Lin stinks it up it'll be Harden's fault.
