[NYPost] Rockets could make push for Carmelo (UPDATE: Blog post)

As near as I can remember Love has never expressed a desire to be anywhere but Minny.

 

So there is no real point in discussing him on the Rockets. I agree it would be a great fit though.

 

A key difference between Love and Anthony is that we can get Anthony this summer, if he wants to come here. Love? Either we somehow pull off a "Harden deal," which is unlikely, or we wait on the outside chance that we can get Love in 2015. I don't like the idea of waiting until 2015 to make "the move" that could put us in the Finals, when it's unlikely that we'll get the guy even then. While it's a risk (every deal has risks), I think Melo added to the core of the current team can get us to the Finals, if we have luck with the "i" word.

 

Isn't that disingenuous at best?

He was pretty well tweaked when he was not given a 5-year maximum extension.

And when have players ever really said to the media, "I'm outta here, this place sucks?" Much less, in this case, "I can't wait to leave Minnesota so I can (a) make bank and (b) not only win, but also (c) win rings."

If the Lakers or Knicks come at him with the ability to put a good team around him, he'll leave Southern Canada real fast.

 

You seem so sure that the Rockets could not make it to the finals next season just given their young players growth and the MLE. The Rockets could make it to the finals this season. Just saying.

Only in a few threads. The majority of threads I could care less about. And I never make b****y arguments. My posts are well reasoned and I have an excellent record of being right. Like in almost every instance. From the head coach to D-Mo to Harden to Rondo and now on to Melo. And the Adelman debate. I may not be politically correct in all instances, but I am right.

And you should know that ROXTXia has been stalking me for weeks just disagreeing with everything I say. He/she obviously has a bone to pick with me, though I have no clue what that is.

 

When it comes to the Rockets, I'm by nature an optimistic person. I'm hopeful that we'll advance to the WC Finals this season, and if we manage that, anything can happen. Managing it is a tall order for the team we have now. The Rockets are the 3rd youngest team in the league, or somewhere in that vicinity, and it shows. When things are clicking, when everyone's on the same page, and when everyone's healthy, we are a crazy good offensive juggernaut, but I've yet the see the consistancy that will enable us to bull our way to a championship series. We could go on an extended tear and get there. Again, I hope so. It's not an impossible task for this team, "just" extremely difficult. Regardless of how things play out this season, I think the addition of Anthony improves the Rockets.

 

Absolutely completely correct on every count good sir! Except the last point. And that point is not testable yet. We will both see. I have no crystal ball.

 

Melo is very talented. I was watching some Knicks game and noticed that he doesn't like to be a team player and has low iq. He can score put his team in top but then delegates the playmaking to the worst player. I can shoot, now I'll just be by the three point line if you need me. A big resemblance to Harden.

 

Like how you said Terrence Jones would be kicked off the team for his minor legal issue?

Or how about when you insisted that the Rockets run this offense from a DVD set:

And about the offense, you have been proven wrong time and again. Once again, you are the one telling Clutchfans that the Rockets run Rick Torbett's offense from the DVD's. I would like to point out that I posted side to side age comparison films of D-Mo and Dirk. And stated explicitly that D-Mo would never be a Dirk. And have you seen the footage of Dirk as a U20 playing against team America U20? God he was awesome. Unstoppable. What? You have not seen them? What a surprise. I am personally shocked. LOL.

 

As long as there are at least two teams I can't see rox beating in a series, then they're not contenders. The rockets cannot beat the clippers and thunder in a series this year. I also don't like their chances against Memphis who I think they will end up facing in the first round.
There is no way we make it to the finals this year, and I don't see the thunder and clips getting worst next year. So, while I do love our team, I don't think a MLE would get us over the top.
