you saw the tape Teddy possesses the single most important attribute to being a good NFL QB football IQ
Unfortunately he doesn't possess anything else that good NFL QB's need. I'm sure he's great playing Madden though.
LOL, you compare a mid 1st round quality QB prospect to Joe Montana then accuse ME of pushing propaganda? That's hilarious.
Don't get me wrong, I think Teddy's the real deal, but Gruden slobbers over everyone. He's hilarious.
I think it's fair to compare a 'mid 1st round quality QB prospect' to a 3rd round QB prospect. Erase the NFL career, and obviously Montana wasn't too impressive.
Yeah, he's really more of a motivational speaker for QB's than he is an analyst. He compares just about every QB prospect to HOFers and talks them all up, it's pretty ridiculous.
It was a MUCH different era though and even in principal comparing meh prospects to HOFers is ridiculous. Brady was a 6th rounder but if I came out comparing Jeff Mathews to Tom Brady everyone would roll their eyes. IMO comparing Bridgewater to Rodgers or Montana is exactly the same thing.
Hindsight is 20/20. The point is that there are plenty of examples of prospects with all sorts of warts and pimples to their game that go on to blossom into all-pros. You're gonna be right about some things and you're gonna be wrong about some things. I don't know how you can speak so matter-of-factly on such an inexact science (especially with QBs).
I'm not the one saying he's going to be a future HOFer.....his fans are. I'm predicting that he'll be a lot like most mid first round quality QB's and be goodish but nothing special, which is a lot more realistic. Of course it's not a matter of fact, it's just what is most likely. Maybe the Teddy fans are right, everyone else is wrong and he's a future HOFer and one of the greatest QB's of all time.....I'm not going to hold my breath.
Oh, if he's a mid-1st round prospect why don't we just select him in the mid-first round? Crap. We don't have a pick there. I guess we'll just have to never take him or consider him ever, because he just doesn't fit with any of our draft slots. People who constantly think that you have to 'win' the draft are guys that lose to me year in and year out in fantasy baseball. Because they all assume that the draft rank is the be-all end-all. Good job! You maxed out the value set out for you from the draft rankings. Unfortunately, your draft rankings were all wrong but, good luck with that!
So as opposed to maxing out the value of your draft picks, you'd rather reach on a project and not get the most value out of your picks? GM's that think like that usually aren't employed long and for good reason. Thinking that you are smarter than every other person in the world to the point where you think you know that a mid first round pick is REALLY worth the top overall pick in the draft is a really awful way to go. When we pass on Bridgewater, will the Rams pick him? Of course not, will the Jags pick him? Maybe, but he could also keep falling. The only place that Bridgewater is hyped up as the next Aaron Rodgers is in Louisville and among a small, QB desperate segment of Texans fans. It's just a mirage caused by thirsty eyes.
No, not easier, it just makes more sense to compare them to all similar QB's rather than just hand picking one or two HOFers or future HOFers based on hopes and dreams. Just a little bit of realism would go a long way.
you keep saying the same tired bs over and over.. who here has said teddy is a future hall of famer..?? who?? this is just more of your bs nonsense, defend clowney at all costs game you play.. claiming teddy or any qb is anything more then meh hurts clowneys shot at #1 in your opinion..
