Well...if you are one of the family members of the 3 or 4 American Citizens on that plane, you would think differently.

Are we talking about Wataru Misaka in a plane wreck thread... or are we talking about Townsend, Walters, or Yao? Hint, Yao wasn't AA and Houston and this BBS loved him.

/End thread diversion return to talk of plane hijack by Grey Aliens.

    Breaking News:

Malaysian PM and authorities just met with members of the families in a private meeting. Malaysian PM will have a press conference at 9AM Central to make an announcement.

Possible Update is that based on colors of objects found and shapes, experts believe this is in fact debris from the plane about 1500 miles off the coast from Perth, Australia.

Edit Update: Malaysian PM will make statement but will not take questions.

Malaysian PM: UK informed Malaysian PM that Immaset satellite company has confirmed, using unprecedented type of analysis, that MH-370 flew along southern corridor and last position was in the middle of Indian Ocean west of Perth. This is a remote location, far from any landing site. With deep regrets, I inform you that MH-370 crashed into the southern Indian Ocean. Further details tomorrow.

RIP to the victims. I made the mistake of turning it on a news network (MSNBC, it was closest to the channel the TV was on) and they were basically just having a "reporter" hold up a phone so we could all have the pleasure of hearing their families wail in grief. Disgusting.

    MSNBC is trash.

Fox News is incredibly biased to the right obviously, but MSNBC has the liberal bias going on PLUS they want to be outrageous in a crash tv type of way.

I can't remember the last time I have watched any of them. It took less than three minutes to remember why.

Sad to hear this but at the same time relief the families finally have an answe. Why am I still skeptical about this?

Any closure is welcome at this point. I imagine doubly so for the families.

Now begins the investigation... could take years.

It doesn't seem like any answer. They think it crashed somewhere just like before. Actually it doesn't answer anything.

Sure it does. Prior to this announcement it was either somewhere along a northern track up into Pakistan or somewhere in a southern track into the Indian Ocean. It wasn't clear if after that track it just stopped transmitting or crashed or landed or what.

With this announcement it is now clear that it flew to the southern Indian Ocean, just west of Perth and then crashed. That lines up exactly with the debris currently being investigated.

It's answered that the plane is most certainly crashed, all on board are likely dead and we have a general idea of where the wreckage is. The only question left is what happened on that plane.

As of late last night major networks had individuals on claiming that military sources still indicated the plane was on the ground in Pakistan with the assistance of the Pakistani ISI. This is definitely a development.
