Do you think we're giving up too much or too less? Another intriguing thought given Kobe's comments, what if we give them a playoff team next year for their top pick (if top 5)? Something along the lines of Asik, Lin, Jones, and Parsons for Lakers Pick next year and the year after that. Then with the cap space we go after Carmelo and pick up a serviceable player in the draft.
i wont mind losing anybody except starters + asik to trade aaron gordon. He will be a steal if drafted as mock predictions.
8M could go a long way, you can hire an elite coach or buy a couple of 2nd rounders/high first rounder with that kind of cash. Keep in mind this is just 1 year of Asik, then you risk losing him for nothing. So you lose an asset, pay 8M for 1 year rental? Maybe if you're a contender you'd do it, but why would Rox strengthen someone they'd face in the finals? Not suprising people aren't scrambling to get him.
GMs seem to be very unwilling to trade specific picks, because it's a fireable mistake if they miss anyone. Fans will ceaselessly blame them for missing every emergent start that is taken from that pick number downwards.
