I'll be in town during the opening week, and would love to take in a game against the Yankees. For the life of me, I can't find any single game tickets. When do they go on sale?

I'm not sure, but even with the Yankees in town, I find it hard to believe tickets will be that hard to come by.

Does anyone know if they still plan on doing the Berkman/Oswalt retirement thingy on April 4th game? I bought tickets for that game based on that announcement a few weeks back but when I bought the tickets it didn't say anything on their website talking about that event.

Individual tickets expensive as heck on ticketmaster. I'll just wait till the day of the game to get tickets.

Not to hi-jack the thread but it is single game ticket related. Do the Astros vs Rangers games sell out in Arlington? Going to be up there April 12th and thinking about catching the game if the weather is good.

Can't believe how expensive tickets have gotten since I last went to a game (about 10 years ago). Used to be, you could buy 5 dollar cheap seats and then stand under the tracks in left center. Those same seats, I think, have quadrupled.

Doubt I'll even go to a game when I'm in town. Thought it'd be cool to check the team out. Maybe I'll wait till they're in my neck of the woods, and at a cheaper stadium.

Weren't they giving them away last year?

Edit: it looks like it's because I'm looking at the opening series. Apparently, there are different pricing tiers now, and the Yankess must be near the top. That's stupid. For a team as bad as the Astros have been, they shouldn't be changing pricing from game to game. They should be happy people are even showing up. I was looking forward to going, but no way I'm paying almost three times the normal price for cheap seats. Whatever.

CSN gave some away a couple of times, in fact I got a free one for Cosart's first home start which was pretty awesome

You can still get cheap tickets, just not for the Yankees. Like many teams the Astros are using dynamic pricing, which means when the yanks are in town the prices go way up.

The Astros should be the last team using dynamic pricing.

Maybe in 3 or 4 years, though.

Well, it's not about how good/bad they are, it's about the opponent

I don't necessarily "like" it, but it's a business and many teams do it. I mean if I know that certain games will sell out (or draw big crowds) even with higher prices, then it does make sense to charge more for those games than one where the opponent is the A's and the crowd will be around 10K

Have they been selling out the last 2 years or so against opponents like the Yankees and Red Sox? Serious question....

I don't live in town anymore, and haven't been paying attention.

I miss the days when outfield deck seats were 5 bucks and a 1 dollar, view deck seats were 10 bucks. mezzanine were 15, and bullpen seats were 20. :(

I agree, we should be the LAST team to use the dynamic pricing thing. It's stupid.

So as a business owner, if there was a way to make more money, you would say na I'd rather make less?

Not selling em all out but large crowds

I'm sure they have done enough research to know that dynamic pricing is helping the bottom line or they wouldn't be doing it

I wish I could still pay $1 parking and $4 for OF ticket like the dome, but I realize it's a business and it's not that way anymore...not here, not anywhere
