    Time to renew and the rates have gone up this year. I am paying 9.8 for 2000kwh with Reliant. Of course they want to renew at a much higher rate, but I can talk them down to their 10.3kwh rate for new customers for 12 months fixed.

    I like the Reliant e-features...

    Not dealing with this or renewal sales calls are the two things I miss about regulated power.

    Natty spiked like crazy this winter, draining the storage supply significantly. Which means natty prices this summer will be competing with people wanting to fill storage for next year.

    Prices rising...

    It's not just that. Retailers took a bath with the polar vortex in January. Some little guys who sell dirt cheap went out of business. Everyone else realized they were underpricing risk. So pricing now will build in a little more margin. But the whole market will move to higher prices. There isn't much a consumer can do about it, except solar panels.

    Alright here's a question fellas.

    Say a plan has a $250 gift card reward for signing up for 2 years but it's 1.6 kWh more than I'm paying now. Is it worth it?
