None of those guys ever had the year Gordon did. Gordon had a all time special year. Brandon Lloyd never even came close to approaching Gordon's numbers. Victor Cruz is anything but a flash in the pan. I think Roy Will is your only real example.
My feeling as of this moment is Clowney/Mack and Garoppolo in the second round. It's always subject to change though.
Do you ever wonder if the Texans can really be turned into a first class winning franchise with Bob "I stick with losers" McNair and Rick "I have no idea what I am doing but I look good and am in tight with the McNair family" Smith? Can OBrien and his Penn State boys really slap, drag, and draft this team into shape? Wait and see.
Bortles #1, then try to find a right tackle. Pass rush is not a glaring need when you're paying Mercilus, Reed, Cushing, and Watt alot of money. Texans really need a big run stopping defensive tackle as well.
LOL, so you're saying that you want the Texans to take a lesser player based solely on going opposite my endorsement, that's awesome.
Solomon dont know what the hell he's talking about. That dude was Schaub's biggest fan the whole time. He clowned on Daryl Morey like he had no idea what he was doing...Solomon has no credibility. Then Bridgewater goes out there throwing ducks all over the field. Its not rocket science...Bortles is the pick, he's prototypical size, great leadership, wins, good character, familiar with the system. We need a qb to get Foster, Johnson, and Hopkins the ball and not throw it to the other team
great you found one play....congrats The New England tree is now running the texans, and they dont draft defensive ends since we will be running a 3-4 defense. Texans drafted a olb last year, drafted Reed two years ago. Another olb would be ridiculous especially when you have zero quarterbacks on your roster. Texans need to pick the best qb at number 1 then move on to the best player available in the second round.
That's just one example of what happened damn near every time the Texans didn't blitz last year. They got 0 pressure unless JJ Watt shed his double team and did it all himself when they didn't send at least 5. I feel like I've been saying this for months, but you don't pick a player based solely on the position they play when you have the top pick in the draft. You don't pick the 10th best prospect simply because he's a QB. Reaching on a QB is the best way to ensure failure in the future.
Texans drafted 2 OLB's last year, one year after drafting Mercilus and two after drafting Reed, and neither of them played a down. One got cut. I don't think that's going to dissuade them from taking another. We're still thin at the position.
Not a fair comparison and you know it. There isn't a QB like Manning in this draft and to be honest, there isn't a QB like Jamarcus Russell in this draft either. Cut it out with the BS comparisons.
Arguing that since we drafted the position recently means that it's not a need is like saying that since we drafted Yates and picked up Keenum, we are set at the QB position. Specifically talking about the OLB's, Reed will be moving to ILB and I'm not sure Mercilus will be a starting OLB next year, I think Travardo beats him out.
Just proves to you that the clock on Rick smith has been ticking...he just gets a temporary reprieve because he moved Schaub...
Not comparing, Peyton had a "meh" pro day, plenty of wobblers You don't make decisions on qbs based on that or the Chargers would have had a superbowl ring by now
